Outlook plugin
Any chance to create this app as an Outlook plugin?
887 votesWe’ll definitely consider supporting Outlook if enough people want it. To that end, if you haven’t already, would you mind voting on this idea? We get a lot of feature requests (for which we’re very grateful!) and the votes help us to prioritise.

Support iPad
Perhaps Rapportive could work on the iPad. What do people think it should do? Please remember to tell us which email client you use, and how you imagine Rapportive working on the iPad :)

Thunderbird addon
I'd like to see a port of this application for Thunderbird for those of us using GMail IMAP.
362 votesMe too! In the long run we want Rapportive to work in all webmail systems and mail clients. We’ll probably work on the most popular clients first. If you know other Thunderbird users, get them to vote here!

Search vk.com (vkontakte.ru) for social profiles
Millions of users with their contacts etc. in Eastern Europe and Russia.
355 votesWe’ll definitely consider searching automatically for VK profiles if enough people want it. Right now, you can already add your VK profile to Rapportive. First copy your VK profile address to your clipboard. Then in the Rapportive dropdown menu at the top of Gmail, click “Edit my profile”; then in the sidebar, where it says “add social network”, paste your VK profile, and click “Add”.

Also enhance data in the Contacts view
It'd be neat to have Rapportive enhance the contact data for a person right in their profile in the Contacts (address book) view.
251 votesCould you suggest how you would like this to work? We don’t want to run the risk of being confusing – if we show our sidebar, which is basically a contact record, next to the existing Google contact record, it would look a bit weird, especially if the data we have isn’t the same as what you’ve got in your address book.
What would you find most useful to augment Google Contacts? Or is the main benefit that you’d be able to search directly for a contact (as Michelle describes) rather than having to first find an email from them?

I really like this idea (I’d use it too!). Integrating it with Google Tasks is also a pretty cool idea (would play nicely with mobile sync!).

Sparrow Integration
Integrate with the soon to be the best and I believe one of the most used Mail Clients for Mac the Sparrow Mail App from http://www.sparrowmailapp.com.
There is also an ticket for this open on their site:

:) Hope you guys do some things magical for us!

Display "notes" from Google Contacts' notes
This is similar to Joe Aston's request to save Rapportive notes to Google contacts "notes" field. I would also like to SEE notes that I have stored in my Google Contacts "notes" field. It would be great -- and super powerful -- if these two fields could be synced.
Similar to Joe Aston, I use Google Notes field to record the history of conversations / contacts I've had with a particular individual, how I know the individual, personal details about the individual that are easy to forget but important to ask about when interacting with the individual, etc.215 votesThanks Deb, this is a great idea! We’ll look into supporting this.

API for adding Rapportive to my web app
I work on a few sites that have Member Profile pages. It would be awesome to add the Rapportive sidebar to them just like I do to Gmail, or open an API where I could send an email address or phone number to Rapportive and it returns a JSON array of everything you know about that person so I could build it myself. Thanks!
197 votesThanks for getting in touch,
We have vague plans to allow sites to embed Rapportive in the future, though it’s likely to be a while before that happens.
I’ll keep you in the loop,

Add reminders to follow up and keep in touch.
There needs to be a simple, quick way to remind me to follow up or stay in touch with people. One click or motion would be ideal.
For example, a slider bar that I drag (a range of 1 day to 6 months would be good). When I let go of the slider, it auto saves and that's all I have to do. I then get an email or some other notification of the reminder.
193 votesThis feature request keeps coming up in feedback emails! It’s a little tricky to implement, as we have to keep track of all the reminders for all our users, even if they’re not logged into Rapportive when the reminder is due. But we know how popular it is, and we’d use it ourselves, so we’ll definitely see what we can do.
In the meantime, check out a really handy service: http://followup.cc. You cc your emails to it, and it sends you follow-up reminders.

Use the reply-to address when a look-up fails.
If I get an email from my wordpress installation telling me that someone has left a comment, the real person's email address is in the Reply-To header, but rapportive (correctly) looks up the From field first. If this first lookup fails to find any interesting data, (because the email is from someone like wordpress@myblog.com), it should do a look-up using the Reply-To address.
116 votesThis is a good idea – thanks! We’ll look into this.
We’ve already improved our support for a related situation, when you get an email from an automated system or company address: we show you a summary of the company and useful links. See here for details: http://rapportive.uservoice.com/forums/42557-general/suggestions/518911-display-an-informative-and-helpful-profile-when-co?ref=title

Hi Guys,
A Masterbranch Raplet would be awesome, though we’re unlikely to have the time to build one for you in the near future.
Would one of you like to create it for us? The API is documented at http://code.rapportive.com/.
If you need a hand, feel free to email supportive@rapportive.com
Thanks!

Rapportive for Zoho CRM and Mail
If you could coordinate with Zoho CRM, Zoho Mail and other apps, that would be even better. Zoho has a much wider apps collection than Google.
76 votesGood idea, thanks! We’ll see how much demand there is for Zoho integration, and will look into it if there is enough interest.

Fetching contact information from XING
I have read another previous request that
was answered regarding my/your own profile and it was somehow solved by Rahul & Sam...BUT...
I think the biggest part is to fetch the information of our contacts from Xing. As Alex said in the post, here in the german spoken countries this Professional Social Network is much more important than Linkedin.
I would appreciate any answer
Thanks
74 votesHi Mario,
This is a great idea, we’d love to get information from XING too!
I’m not yet sure when we’ll do this, or how we’ll implement it (do you happen to know if XING have an API?)

Search for information by using the full name and not only by the current, single, email address
Social networks are easily searched by full names (which are connected to the email address within my contacts). Bring it on...
71 votesThank you for your idea — we’re looking into ways of making this work.
Names are tricky, because they can have different spellings, can be abbreviated, and sometimes two different people can have the same name. But I’m sure we will find a way of solving this. In the meantime, thanks for bearing with us!

Provide email statistics from recepient
Statistics like how many emails have I received from this person?, How many emails have I send today, yesterday, last month, etc. ?What's my busiest hour?, % of spam received (based on spam filter in gmail)? Average time for a person to respond an email?
61 votesCould you tell me what statistics you would find most useful? e.g. statistics about yourself or about your contacts? Do you think this would help you to use email more effectively?
We already show a simple statistic – if you click the “my profile” link at the bottom of any sidebar, or hover over your own name in a conversation, we’ll show you how many times your profile has been viewed by people you email.

At the moment you can add a link to your hyves.nl profile when you are logged in to rapportive. Finding information and connections automatically will be harder, though it looks like there’s a pretty nice API.

Allow me to see who viewed my profile
I'd like to see who viewed my profile. You display the count of users who have viewed, and I very much want to know who these people are. See LinkedIn for example of this (though not ideal there either as they hide some info about who viewed)
57 votesThis is an interesting idea – I can see that it would be useful. We don’t have immediate plans in this direction, and we obviously have to be very careful here to protect people’s privacy. I’d be interested to hear in the comments – how would you react if people whose profiles you viewed in Rapportive could see your name and profile in return?

Allow users to collapse rapportive pane.
I really value my screen real estate, esp. when I find myself on a small screen laptop. It'd be great if users could simply collapse/minimize the rapportive pane.
To see the rapportive pane take up so much space really frustrates the hell out of me at times (I'm not fond of the email experience to begin with). Right now, my other option is to flat out uninstall the tool (seriously considering it), which blows, esp. given how easily it can be fixed.
55 votesHi Adyita,
Thanks for getting in touch — it would be useful to have a “hide Rapportive” temporarily button in several cases!
Out of interest, how big are the small screens you are using?
