Hi Nick,
Thanks for getting in touch! This is a great idea — particularly aggregating events from multiple places :).
I’ll keep this story up to date as we think about it more.

Hi All,
We’re planning to do this, if you vote for this idea, we’ll be able to prioritise accordingly; and as a nice bonus, we’ll let you know when it’s done :).

Thanks for getting in touch,
We have vague plans to allow sites to embed Rapportive in the future, though it’s likely to be a while before that happens.
I’ll keep you in the loop,
Conrad

We will soon be allowing you to add any website to Rapportive. Thanks for your patience! :)
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminConrad Irwin (Admin, Rapportive) commentedHi waldir,
At the moment we still restrict the websites to a whitelist of domains — see http://rapportive.com/help. We are planning to add support for any website (which is long overdue now).

Hi Roy, sure, we will consider it. :)
It will depend though how much demand there is. (We don’t even support Internet Explorer yet…)An error occurred while saving the comment AdminConrad Irwin (Admin, Rapportive) commentedHey Theo,
w00t! That's really cool :). Last time I tried getting Rapportive into Opera I stumbled across some CSS edge-cases, but they should also be pretty fixable — the bookmarklet suffers from them too.
I'd be really interested to see what you've got so far, could you drop me an email to supportive@rapportive.com?
Thanks!

Hi Rohit,
That’s a very interesting idea, but I’m not sure it’s something that all of our users want. (One of the things people love about Rapportive is the lack of adverts on the right of their Gmail).
What might be much better is a Raplet that showed coupons — so people can easily opt in to seeing these if they want to.
Would that be a good compromise?

Hi Taylor,
Thanks for getting in touch — what kind of integration would you like to see with Mavenlink? How would it work?
Conrad
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminConrad Irwin (Admin, Rapportive) commentedHi Taylor,
Cool! That sounds like the kind of thing our Raplet's API was designed for — see http://code.rapportive.com/raplet-docs/. If you're interested in building something, or know someone who might be, please drop me an email at supportive@rapportive.com.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch — and thank you for using Rapportive :).
Every time you close your GMail we log you out of Rapportive, so just click “sign out” on your GMail tab. You will see the Rapportive menu say “Signing you out of Rapportive”.
Is this good enough?
Conrad
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminConrad Irwin (Admin, Rapportive) commentedHey again,
The automatic login is completely secure, because we check with Google's Authorization servers every single time you log in.
If you really want to stop this, then you need to revoke Rapportive's access to Google. You can do that by going from Gmail → Settings (top right) → Accounts → Google Account Settings (right at the top) → Authorizing applications & sites. Then find "rapportive.com" in the list, and click [ Revoke Access ].
Otherwise, if you email supportive@rapportive.com, I can delete your user account from Rapportive for you.

Hi Gennadij,
That’s a really good idea, we can look at your Rapportive profile to see which sites you are on and give you some buttons to quickly.
Out of interest, which sites do your friends use instead?
Conrad
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminConrad Irwin (Admin, Rapportive) commentedHi Gennagij — you can either list them here (and I'll add them to your profile), or click "my profile" in Gmail, and add them from within Gmail.

Hi Tomasz,
We’ve got a note in our bug tracker to try to fix this — but it’s hard to work out what to do as both extensions use the same space in Gmail.
If you’re feeling adventurous, Remember The Milk have published a separate Gmail Gadget ( http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/gmail/gadget/ ) that appears in the left-hand-column, so it doesn’t conflict with Rapportive.
Obviously this isn’t a real fix, but hopefully it is good enough until we have made one — please let me know how you get on.
Conrad

Hey folks, we’re nearly done on this. When we’re ready, we’ll release a small beta test to everybody who’s voted on the idea. Thank you for waiting :)

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminConrad Irwin (Admin, Rapportive) commentedI like the vCard idea a lot — I think Google Contacts itself supports three output formats (CSV for Google, CSV for Outlook and vCard for Apple). Seems like those would be the sensible formats for Rapportive to support too. Then you could import Rapportive stuff everywhere :)

This is a good idea – thanks! We’ll look into this.
We’ve already improved our support for a related situation, when you get an email from an automated system or company address: we show you a summary of the company and useful links. See here for details: http://rapportive.uservoice.com/forums/42557-general/suggestions/518911-display-an-informative-and-helpful-profile-when-co?ref=title

We’ve made some progress on this: once you’ve connected your Google Contacts to Rapportive (http://blog.rapportive.com/address-book-inbox-together-at-last), then if you have several email addresses for a contact, we’ll recognise that the different email addresses are the same person, and show the same profile for all of them. This means you can “link” two profiles together by creating a contact in Google Contacts with both of the email addresses – however please note we could take up to a day to notice the change.
If we determine from your Google Contacts that two email addresses are the same person, that will be private to you – i.e. you’ll see the same information for that person from then on, but other people will still see them as separate. That’s because people often want to keep their personal and professional identities separate in public.
We know there are times when you want to…
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminConrad Irwin (Admin, Rapportive) commentedRe Shimon and Darren: Yes — we have similar ideas :).
Re Roger (or anyone): If you want to, email your addresses to supportive@rapportive.com, and we can copy the information between the two in the meantime.
Re Simon: For now, yes it's case-sensitive. We've written some code to fix this, but it'll be quite complicated to deploy — but hopefully not too long now. See also: http://rapportive.uservoice.com/forums/42557-general/suggestions/944791.

HI Sam,
Thank you for getting in touch, and sorry for the time it’s taken me to reply.
I’ve tried a few things, but I can’t seem to get Rapportive to shift left like you describe. Would you have the time to email a screenshot of the problem to supportive@rapportive.com? (To take a screenshot, press command+shift+3, and it will appear on your desktop).
Yours

Hi Adam, thanks for getting in touch. We’d certainly like people to be able to make their profiles exactly how they want them.
Perhaps a good first step would be if we defined a sensible default order — at the moment we go Twitter, Facebook, Linked-in, and then the rest are random. Should we include more things in that list, or order it differently?
Conrad
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminConrad Irwin (Admin, Rapportive) commentedI see — yes, that would be neat. Thanks again.

You can add your Orkut account to your profile. Click on the ‘my profile’ link in the sidebar, then ‘Add a social network’ and paste in the address of your Orkut profile.
This isn’t quite as awesome as automatically searching for Orkut profiles like we do with Facebook and Twitter, but it’s a first step.
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminConrad Irwin (Admin, Rapportive) commentedIgor, I've merged the two ideas together now.
You can now add Orkut profiles manually, and we'll certainly look into finding them automatically in the very near future.
Hi Nick,
I think the other idea is to create data in Rapportive and push it to Google Calendar; this idea is the other way around, i.e. show events already created in Google Contacts in Rapportive.
Obviously they're very complementary, but I think they're slightly different :).
