Save pulled data on your servers to make Rapportive Chinese-Firewall Friendly.
China has blocked most foreign social networking sites. So if users could pull data from Rapportive in stead of directly from facebook and all the blocked sites, you will enable people living in China to enjoy your service. You should also look into pulling data from Chinese Social Networking sites.

Improve speed & responsiveness
Please work on faster load time, eliminate pauses when composing, reduce processor/browser overhead somehow, etc... When I compose a message, I end up waiting 3-5 seconds before the cursor appears and I can see what I'm typing.
6 votesHey Jay, Miles, we’ve released a whole bunch of performance updates recently — is it better for you now?

Search for users on Plurk.
Rapportive also searches Plurk in search of client intel.

Support GMail Themes/offer other color settings.
Darker themes make Rapportive invisible, maybe just let people pick from a few different color settings?
6 votesRight now we’ve given Rapportive a white background in all themes. This might not be the prettiest way, but it ensures you can see your information regardless of what theme you choose to use.
Though, we’ve started looking at matching the styling of different themes to look nice everywhere!

Quieten Rapportive down
I've just loaded Rapportive. My initial impression is that it's distracting. The font size is far larger than the text of my email messages. I also don't like the nagware feel of being asked repeatedly to log in..
6 votesHi guys, we’ve looked into this issue but we cant replicate it.
On Firefox, the Gmail body is 12.8px; on Chrome, it is 13px. In both cases, we’re matching it.
Are you still seeing this issue?

Hi Josh, thanks for the idea — this sounds really interesting.
What kind of database did you have in mind?
Would the idea be to submit the databases for one user (or a few users) only, or were you thinking about public databases to enhance the information for everyone?

Hi Rob,
We should do this, but our system has been a bit overloaded for the last while, so we had to turn it off.
I’ll let you know when we turn it back on again — hopefully it won’t be too long.

Remember The Milk
Rapportive Chrome Extension does not work when Remember The Milk (https://www.rememberthemilk.com) extension is installed.
6 votesHi Tomasz,
We’ve got a note in our bug tracker to try to fix this — but it’s hard to work out what to do as both extensions use the same space in Gmail.
If you’re feeling adventurous, Remember The Milk have published a separate Gmail Gadget ( http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/gmail/gadget/ ) that appears in the left-hand-column, so it doesn’t conflict with Rapportive.
Obviously this isn’t a real fix, but hopefully it is good enough until we have made one — please let me know how you get on.

Allow me to add a note to specific email rather than to just the contact
It is great that I can add a note to a contact. However sometimes an email or email thread is what needs the note. Sometime it is a combination of the people in the email thread that needs to be noted not one particular person.
6 votesThat’s an interesting idea, thanks David.
Can I clarify: when you create a note on a conversation, where do you want to see that note again?
• Just when you look at that particular conversation again?
• Or when you look at a different conversation with the same people?
• Or when you look at the Rapportive profile of any of the people on that conversation? Thanks,

Implicit LinkedIn Invites
Allow us to auto-invite contacts to LinkedIn on first email sent to a contact, via a lightbox hover over the page.
This feature should be opt-in by the user, so they can turn it off at anytime.
Essentially, the first time we email a contact, you'll prompt us to invite them to LinkedIn (if not already a LinkedIn contact).
6 votesHi Jay,
Thanks for the idea.I can see how this would be useful for quite a few people — though definitely opt-in only :).

Add 'Search person/address with Google' button
Add a button/link to automatically search an address in Google

Better integration with Firefox
Integration with Chrome works just fine. In Firefox however it embeds rather poor
6 votesHI Jeroen,
Thanks for getting in touch. We test Rapportive in both Firefox and Chrome, but haven’t noticed a significant difference. Do you have a moment to explain what breaks, or to email a screenshot to supportive@rapportive.com?
Thanks

Display the website from Twitter or LinkedIn
I would love to click directly to someone's website or blog from the Rapportive plugin instead of going to Twitter or LinkedIn and then clicking to their site from there. If there was someway to import that information, that would be awesome.
Love the plugin though! Thanks for an awesome product.
6 votesHi Rebecca,
This is definitely on the to-do list, thank you very much for the reminder!

Show # of connections on Linkedin
This one is very straightforward. For some of my contacts, a Linkedin connection is being shown in the Rapportive pane. Before clicking on it, I'd like to judge the 'weight' of that Linkedin profile by having a number next to it that shows the number of contacts that particular user has. Just a matter of knowing whether the contact has a substantial number of contacts, or if it is just another <5 contact profile.
6 votesHI Wouter,
Great idea — that’s a really simple, yet really useful thing we can do to make things better.
Thanks,

Let me hide private notes from the screen
Keep private notes private by hiding them until a user clicks a "reveal" link. Private notes are great, but when your laptop is connected to a projector and you pull up a file in an e-mail that someone just sent, the whole room sees your notes on the sender, too.
6 votesHi Sean, thanks for your suggestion. I must admit that we hadn’t anticipated notes appearing on projectors! We’ll think about letting you hide the notes, although we try to keep Rapportive as simple as possible, so we don’t like adding more buttons if we can avoid it.
For now, can you use a simple workaround, like making your Gmail window wider than the screen, and moving it off the right-hand side of the screen, so that the Rapportive sidebar is outside of the area of the screen shown by the projector?

Allow me to stop lookups for specific email addresses
There are certain email addresses I dont want to see details from. I want to be able to stop Rapportive from searching my social networks for those email addresses
6 votesHi James,
Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the clarification.

Dude, you're blocking my view!
It sucks, the box gets in the way and I can't read some part of my email message. Uninstalled.
6 votesHi Hendra,
Thanks for getting in touch, and thanks for letting us know — that certainly should not happen.
Would you have a moment to send me a screenshot of what you saw, so that we can try and fix this problem for everyone?
Thanks a lot!

Rapportive in Google+
It would be interesting to see a Google+ person's additional social activities, just like I do in GMail. I know that Google wants everything to happen in Google, but that isn't reality yet...
6 votesHi Jack,
That would be rather cool, I agree :) — thanks for the idea!
