Hi Alan,
Thanks for getting in touch, and well noticed!
We’re planning to update the style of the menu bar to fit in with the shiny-new Google Bar http://bit.ly/hQmKII — I’ve added fixing the hover behaviour to the list of things to look at.
Thanks again,

Hey Randy,
Which Facebook account do you want displayed? Shall I make this email address show all the Googleness information from your other email addresses?
Thanks

Hey Ray,
We’re planning to do something similar to this — but instead of a thumbnail, just a little snippet of text, along with some helpful links (to the FAQ, or the Blog, or the Contact Us page in addition to the homepage).
Thumbnails are kind of cool — but it’s hard to get across enough useful information — so maybe we’ll come back to them later, but it might not be necessary,

Mail one reminder if Rapportive is unused for a while
If Rapportive has been used for some amount of time, if a user stops using it for some interval, he should get a single email reminder. He may have reinstalled his OS or switched browsers. The Rapportive logo is tiny and not memorable, which may lead to people forgetting the name. People may not know Rapportive is available for alternate browsers either.
If you want to be really cautious, you could display the option to opt in or out of the reminder within the Rapportive sidebar itself after a few weeks' use.
3 votesHi Brian,
Thanks for getting in touch, and an interesting idea :).
There are other reasons we might want to email these people, for example to find out why they’ve stopped using Rapportive; but we’ll certainly have to find a way of doing it that doesn’t look like spam.

Hi Adam,
Thanks for gettng in touch! — We’re definitely going to do that. We had a bit of a rush to make Rapportive work at all with the new top-bar, so we figured that getting an ugly fix out in a few hours was better than a beautiful fix in a few days.
We will, of course, fix it.

Couchsurfing Integration
Would be very interesting to have couchsurfing profile integragration. While traveling could be useful reading e-mail about couchrequest reply and having a quick access to the host or surfer information.
1 voteHey Andrea,
That’s an awesome idea — out of interest does the email that couchsurfer sends you contain the email address of the person?

Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch — and thank you for using Rapportive :).
Every time you close your GMail we log you out of Rapportive, so just click “sign out” on your GMail tab. You will see the Rapportive menu say “Signing you out of Rapportive”.
Is this good enough?

Add Grooveshark
User profile format http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/user/username/1234567
7 votesHi Adam,
I’ve made it so that you can add your Grooveshark profile to Rapportive manually.
I’ve not yet added automatic searching for Grooveshark profiles. If you felt like building a Raplet, that would be awesome ;).

Have to keep reconnecting to Facebook
This seems to be new behavior. Rapportive wants me to log into Facebook, which means I have to connect to Google, and everything is fine. Up until the next day when I have to keep do the process all over again.
1 voteHi Bryan,
Hmm, this shouldn’t happen at all, when you log into Rapportive the first time, we should remember that forever.
Out of interest, are you using Google’s Multiple Signin feature? (you would know if you are). [Feel free to email your answer to supportive@rapportive.com, or reply here, whatever’s easiest]

Edit profile buggy.
I add occupations to my rapportive profile, but they vanish immediately. Shouldn't they appear in addition to occupations that application locates on its own?

Limit data access for raplets?
Mixcloud sounds like it would be a cool thing to have in the rapportive sidebar. However, not knowing Mixcloud, I am not too keen to give them access to my email addresses and personal data in gmail. Are there usage policies in place to protect against rogue usage of that (prized) data? Would it be possible for Rapportive to act as the trusted intermediary in some way, so that my email addressbook stays secure? Thanks.
0 votesHi Thomas,
All the raplets on http://raplets.com/ are written by people we’ve talked to, and trust to handle your data as sensitively as we do ourselves.
Obviously, there is a risk that one of these companies “goes rogue”, but we think it is very small.
That said, we do have plans to make it easier to understand what the risks are when you install a particular Raplet, as well as to run Raplets in properly isolated containers.
Would that address your concerns?

Build a Rapportive apps for my Yahoo email address book.
Please allow me to use Rapportive with my Yahoo email account!
20 votesHi Malkah,
Supporting Yahoo! mail is a great idea! It is likely to take a lot of work from our part, so I’m not sure when we’ll be able to start doing this.

Hi,
This is actually a pretty neat idea — it would be quite fun to have an easy way of adding people to lists straight from the sidebar.
Not sure we’ll have time to work on it soon, but certainly something we can think about.
Thank you,

Better integration with Firefox
Integration with Chrome works just fine. In Firefox however it embeds rather poor
6 votesHI Jeroen,
Thanks for getting in touch. We test Rapportive in both Firefox and Chrome, but haven’t noticed a significant difference. Do you have a moment to explain what breaks, or to email a screenshot to supportive@rapportive.com?
Thanks

Suggest possible facebook/linked in profiles if you can't find an email
You didn't seem to find a lot of people who are already friends on facebook. If you searched my connections, you could find similar names and ask me to tell you if you have found the right person
26 votesHi Ambarish,
This is definitely something we’re planning for the future. Thanks for the reminder :).

Show a summary of the contact's website (at their email domain)
A bunch of my contacts come up with the ol' "We couldn't find this person on any social networks" message. That's cool, but how about we show SOME info about the person. If they aren't using a hosted email platform (gmail, yahoo, etc.) then let me see some info about their email domain (mycontact@theircoolcompany.com).
8 votesHi, thanks for this suggestion. We’re working on getting a summary of the website associated with your contact’s email address, and hope we’ll have it working soon.
Best, Martin

Keep me logged into Rapportive and LinkedIn on Google Apps
Every time I login to Google Apps Mail, I have to login into Rapportive and LinkedIn. Didn't use to face this problem on GMail.
1 voteHi there, thanks for your message. Sorry to hear about the login problems. Maybe you need to enable third-party cookies, as described here: http://rapportive.com/help#bugs
If you’re still having issues, please email us directly at supportive@rapportive.com and we’ll try to sort it out for you.
Cheers, Martin

Hi Rohit, thanks for your note. I’m not sure I understand — do you mean emails should automatically be archived after a set period? I fear that might be beyond the scope of Rapportive, but we’ll think about it.
Cheers, Martin
