    Hi Stanislav,

We’re working on a small redesign to Rapportive that will learn which fields are most important to you — i.e. membership links will take up less space if you never click on them.

  2. Currently, when an email is sent from linkedin invitations, rapportive does not understand that it is an invitation from a particular user and give any option to accept that invitation.

    Hi Roopesh,

That’s an awesome idea! Definitely something we should do when we get a spare few minutes :).

Thanks, and please let us know if you think of anything else,

    Thanks again John.

We wanted to do this too, but as far as we can tell Facebook doesn’t expose that functionality in the official APIs we’re using to allow you to add a friend.

If that changes, we’ll be sure to update Rapportive.

    HI Kristen,

Ouch — that could be really embarrassing! I’ll try and think of something we can do to make them more distinct without making it look like a mess — do you have any ideas?

  6. I would love to click directly to someone's website or blog from the Rapportive plugin instead of going to Twitter or LinkedIn and then clicking to their site from there. If there was someway to import that information, that would be awesome.

Love the plugin though! Thanks for an awesome product.

  8. I would like to see "Here are other similar people in the company/role" based on the current Rapportive profile I am seeing. I mostly care about this info from Linkedin, others might find it useful from sites like FB, HN, Quora, etc.

    Thanks for getting in touch.

This is a really good idea — I imagine it being particularly useful if your contact at a company leaves, or is unresponsive!

We’ll certainly look into this more in the future,

    Hi Rohit,

That’s a very interesting idea, but I’m not sure it’s something that all of our users want. (One of the things people love about Rapportive is the lack of adverts on the right of their Gmail).

What might be much better is a Raplet that showed coupons — so people can easily opt in to seeing these if they want to.

Would that be a good compromise?

    Hi Aric,

The MailChimp raplet is controlled by MailChimp themselves, I’ll try and forward your suggestion onto them, but it might have more weight if you ask them yourself.

    Thanks

    Hi,
Crunchbase don’t expose a find by email API, so we’re relegated to using names for the moment.

It is now the case that if you add a link to your Crunchbase profile in the sidebar, we’ll show that instead of the find-by-name result.

If you’d like the profile removed completely (for you or someone you’ve emailed), please do send an email to supportive@rapportive.com and we’ll sort it out.

    Thanks!
    Conrad

    Hi Nick,

Thanks for getting in touch, and thanks for using Rapportive!

The sidebar lookup that you see when you hover over support@yatedo.com is a summary that we automatically generated from their homepage — just like the snippet of text underneath the Google search listing (in this case, exactly the same text!).

We show this for the same reason that Google does, in order to give you a quick summary of their website, without you having to navigate there.

Does that re-assure you at all? Can you think of a way we could make it clearer what’s going on?

    Conrad

    HI Mathieu,

That’s a very interesting idea. We have some plans for showing you useful portions of email history; and this would tie into that very nicely.

    Thank you very much!

  17. Does anyone else get tired of seeing their own profile? I think a great feature would be the ability to hide your own profile; I never want to see my own social profile in gmail, its kind of pointless and semi-annoying.

    Hi Zack,

This in an interesting idea, which has been proposed before, but we’re not yet sure how it would work.

There are lots of advantages to showing you your own profile, for example then you can keep it up to date; but I agree that it can be distracting.

We’ll think about it some more!

    Hey Dmitry,

That’s an awesome idea — thank you for getting in touch!

Obviously it will take quite a bit of doing to get it right, but it’s certainly something we could look into.

    Thanks again,

  20. I've noticed the latest update (hey, I've got portable copies to update) shows it as 4 GB. Somehow I don't think so, and yes, it's just cosmetic, but it's a bit of a shock to us 3.X users who see that. I don't see the size being listed under 4.0.

    Hi Bryan,

Thanks for getting in touch — that sounds really wierd!.

The latest version of Rapportive is Rapportive-1.2, and the extension file is about 10kb, certainly nowhere near 4Gb!

Would you be able to send a screenshot of this crazy message to supportive@rapportive.com so we can figure out what to do about it?

    Conrad
