use non webmail domains to generate a site thumbnail.
Hey Ray,
We’re planning to do something similar to this — but instead of a thumbnail, just a little snippet of text, along with some helpful links (to the FAQ, or the Blog, or the Contact Us page in addition to the homepage).
Thumbnails are kind of cool — but it’s hard to get across enough useful information — so maybe we’ll come back to them later, but it might not be necessary,

It's not just a matter of the thumbnails being informative but more as a colourful mnemonic. Picture the thumbnails on the Google Chrome new tab page with the bottom 50% removed. They can also serve to help make kind of a snap judgment as to what type of person or company you're dealing with.
And yeah, cool too.

. . . by non-webmail domains, I mean: don't bother making thumbnails for popular webmail domains such as gmail.com, hotmail.com yahoo.com etc. as they tell us nothing about the sender.

currently, the email address's domain name is clickable which is very useful. But what if that domain could be used to generate a site thumbnail of that domain's homepage. For example, if I receive mail from someone@casio.jp, a thumbnail of the www.casio.jp site would appear.
