Hey folks, we’re nearly done on this. When we’re ready, we’ll release a small beta test to everybody who’s voted on the idea. Thank you for waiting :)

Hi Franck,
That’s a pretty nice idea :). Do you have strong ideas about what information should be extracted?

The HighRise raplet is an excellent reference implementation. If the Insightly one were developed to have feature parity, that would be fantastic,

This feature request keeps coming up in feedback emails! It’s a little tricky to implement, as we have to keep track of all the reminders for all our users, even if they’re not logged into Rapportive when the reminder is due. But we know how popular it is, and we’d use it ourselves, so we’ll definitely see what we can do.
In the meantime, check out a really handy service: http://followup.cc. You cc your emails to it, and it sends you follow-up reminders.

We are planning to support this in some form. Would be great to hear more about how you’d like this to work. Who would you like to share your notes with? Are there any systems you use for this currently, and what do you like and dislike about them?

Come on.
Let people share notes, and you've got the best CRM on the planet. In these days of scarce attention spans, the best CRM is the one that's most integrated, and makes it easiest to store and share notes. Rapportive is addictive, you've nailed that one. I couldn't convince the business-types in my team to use any PM/CRM software, be it as simple as Wrike or as powerful as WORKetc, but they installed Rapportive after they saw it on my screen.
You're smart; use Rapportive's userbase to get a leg in the CRM space, and win.

We are definitely going to let you edit your contact records for other people. Right now, we’re working on giving you as much context as we can about your contacts without making you do the work of filling in their details, but we know that’s not enough on its own.
When we enable editing other people’s profiles, the edits will be private to you: in other words, if you edit someone’s profile, we’ll show you the edited version, but other people won’t see your edits. That’s because your contact data belongs to you, and we won’t share it without your consent; it’s also to protect the privacy of people who might not want their social network profiles being revealed in public.
If you have any ideas on how you would like this to work, please do let us know in the comments!
An error occurred while saving the comment dandv commentedSam, I understand the privacy implications prevent you from propagating information entered by users to the entire customer base, but how about publicly available information that Rapportive just doesn't have yet?
For example, the email address daniel at deltatangobravo dot com doesn't show an associated Quora Profile, but www.quora.com/Daniel-Burka is easy to find.
In other words, allow crowdsourcing contact data.

As far as I can tell, Rapportive development has ceased. Would love to be proven wrong.
