Make Rapportive Work with Xobni for Gmail
This may not be something you can control (so I'm making the suggestion to Xobni as well), but currently enabling Xobni extension makes Rapportive disappear. Before getting Xobni, I had my chats on the right-hand side (Labs) where Xobni now sits, then Rapportive would appear to the left of that. I thought it worked fine. The same would be true of Xobni & Rapportive working together, there's space for both, especially with chat moved back to the left.
23 votesHi Tevya,
This is definitely something we want to support — though obviously it’s a little bit tricky to make sure it works well.
I’ll keep you updated as thins progress,

Google Contact Group
Google contact groups would be very helpful. If you click on an email and want to add them to a group, you are able to see a dropdown of groups and you can click a check box next to each one. After you click them, they appear like tags.
For the future, you could review Universal Contact Manager does a really good job at graphically displaying the groups as tags, where they even allow you to color code the specific tags.

Thanks for getting in touch — I think this could be a powerful idea.

have a way for people to see the information without it interfering with the mail you are reading.
I am finding that this is a great tool, but I cant find a way to read my mail now, it is being cut off by the rapportive, which as you might imagine is annoying. If there are settings, I can't find them,
1 voteHi Diane,
Ugh — that’s really not supposed to happen!
Can you please send a screenshot (see http://take-a-screenshot.org/) and email it to supportive@rapportive.com — that should enable us to see what’s broken so that we can try to fix it.
Thanks!

Allow creation of custom fields
Custom fields would help bridge the gap between this and a CRM. Notes are nice, but actual fields are a lot more useful.
8 votesHi Adrian,
That’s a really interesting idea — we do actually have a little something in the works that should help in similar cases.
If you’re interested in getting very early beta access, please drop a line to supportive@rapportive.com, and I’ll send you the instructions.

There are some instructions for taking a screen-shot at http://take-a-screenshot.org/, please let me know how you get on.
Thanks!

Add support for BOINC profiles
Not very elegant URLs but here's an example (cpid query parameter is the variable): http://boinc.netsoft-online.com/e107_plugins/boinc/get_user.php?cpid=54be14e4497c3ea79c7546e55c7b4794&html=1

Allow me to stop lookups for specific email addresses
There are certain email addresses I dont want to see details from. I want to be able to stop Rapportive from searching my social networks for those email addresses
6 votesHi James,
Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the clarification.

use modals instead of popups
Sometimes the popups open and go to the background and it leaves me wondering if rapportive crashed. Modals are nicer anyway.
0 votesHi Michael,
It’s a good idea. Unfortunately for many of the services with which we allow you to authorize (i.e. Google, LinkedIn, Twitter), they require that we use popups so that users can verify that the URL is https://.

Hi Akilan,
Interesting idea. The only problem would be if Google’s spam filtering is wrong, then we wouldn’t show you useful information when you were looking at a real email that had somehow found its way into the spam filter.
Does looking up spam addresses cause you problems?

Facebook "Like"
I miss the names of those who liked a post in the Facebook integration.
3 votesHi Reshma,
Thanks for the idea — why didn’t we think of that!

Let me choose which features r shown. Even delete the social media and only show the notes I put in
I want my notes to appear on top of everything. Not face, twitter or linkedin
3 votesHi André,
That’s a really good idea, definitely something we’ll consider!
We tried to make Rapportive show you the information that’s relevant, though it’s not always successful automatically.

Currently can't log in to LinkedIn et al.
I hit the link to login with LinkedIn, Google, Facebook, it appears to happen, then Rapportive refreshes, and it still says I need to login.
2 votesHi,
Thanks for getting in touch, and thank you for using Rapportive.
We deployed a change to the Rapportive code on Saturday that may have caused similar problems (we didn’t notice any in testing, but there’s always a chance we missed something).
Have you tried refreshing Gmail this week?

Let me remove information I know is wrong.
A man named Ray is identified by you as a woman named Gabriella. He is a school district official and she is a Vice President Core Risk Services at Credit Suisse. Makes the service look silly and makes me want to remove the whole plugin.
4 votesHi Steve,
Thanks for getting in touch. Could you please send Rays’ email address to supportive@rapportive.com — I can fix it for you.
We certainly do need a one-click “this is wrong button” too.
Thanks,

Provide the ability to change the order that my occupations appear.
Currently the display order of my past occupations display an employer from 20 years ago first. It would be nice to be able to manually control the top most appearing employer, especially in the case when we have more than one present occupation.
4 votesHi Brian,
Thanks for getting in touch.
We should totally expose this through the “edit your profile” interface.
In the meantime if you email supportive@rapportive.com with the order you’d like, we can change it for you.

Add Google+ profiles ASAP!
Behind the curve here folks...
4 votesHi Peter,
You should be able to add your Google+ profile manually; but yes it would be much better if we could discover these automatically!

Add support for sending Twitter Direct Messages
To improve the new Twitter integration, I suggest adding support for sending Twitter direct messages.
This will be helpful in two main scenarios:
1. Someone DMed you, you open the notification email and reply to the DM from your inbox.
2. You want to DM someone about an email conversation you're having (maybe you want faster reply).4 votesHi Arik,
Yes — supporting DM’s would be really cool :). It’s mainly a case of squeezing the buttons somewhere in the sidebar.
Thanks for the clear use cases,

Hi Randy,
Interesting.. you might have to manually “remove” the old Facebook link — just hover over it and click “remove”.

Ensure that profile pictures are retrieved regularly from social networks, not just once.
Profile picture retrieval seems sporadic and inconsistent right now. I see many 'old' profile pictures where my friends have long since updated their picture on the social network it was originally retrieved from. This should be done more regularly and consistently.
4 votesHi Carsten,
Thanks for getting in touch. Out of interest, which networks are you noticing this most on?
We have to trade off between finding new informaiton, and refreshing old information; but it may be that we can tweak things so that we re-check some images more frequently,

Sparrow Integration
Integrate with the soon to be the best and I believe one of the most used Mail Clients for Mac the Sparrow Mail App from http://www.sparrowmailapp.com.
There is also an ticket for this open on their site:
