  1. Sometimes I want to unsubscribe to a newsletter or reinstate an old subscription. Having an area similar to the Rapportive column to manage e-newsletters would be very helpful.

I imagine a list with all current subscriptions and a checkbox to turn on and off there ability to find their way into your inbox. The ability to categorize lists and possibly an area for companies to offer their newsletter based on your likes.

Hi John, that’s an interesting idea — we’ll see if we can fit it in. It is unfortunately a bit far from what Rapportive currently does, so maybe it would be a better problem for someone else to attack!

  3. Currently in Chrome, when I click the Google Contacts link on the right in rapportive. I get the contact page open in a new tab. Shouldn't it open quickly in place?

    Hi Jarrett,

It’s a good idea, thanks! We’ve been thinking about improving the keyboard shortcuts a bit, the difficulty is of course doing it in a way that doesn’t break everyone’s existing keyboard shortcuts :).

P.S. I’ve just realised — maybe “g l twitter” already does what you want?

    Hi Nash,

At the moment there isn’t, but I also agree it would be a cool feature to have :).

Thanks for submitting the idea, and don’t hesitate to let us know if you have more.

    Hi Michael,

Right now we show you updates from the people you email and let you comment and interact with their posts. We don’t yet allow you to post a global Facebook status, although it is something we’ll gladly look into.

    Thanks!

    Andrew

  10. In the sender's profile, on mouse-over their location, display their time zone or current time. (I'd consider this low priority, but useful feature)

    Hi Hristo,

We’ve thought about doing this a bit — in the meantime you might want to enable the “Sender Time Zone” feature in Google Labs.

Please let me know how you get on,

    Hi Hendra,

Thanks for getting in touch, and thanks for letting us know — that certainly should not happen.

Would you have a moment to send me a screenshot of what you saw, so that we can try and fix this problem for everyone?

    Thanks a lot!
    Conrad

Hi Kirill, thank you :D We’re always working hard, building things that people are asking for — we will probably never finish this task, but I can safely say that it’s happening right now!

    Randy,

This should now be fixed the next time you refresh Gmail.

I was looking in our database, and there are some patterns there with your Facebook account I’ve never seen before — Out of interest have you changed the Facebook urls for your accounts at some point in the past?

  18. ca) Photos of contacts in Gmail contacts : when I receive incoming phone calls on my Android or iphone, in order for me to view profile photos of my Gmail contact whose call I am receiving, I need to manually add photo of contact to my Gmail contacts. It will be great if gmail can help get the photo automatically either from my facebook friends, or drag-and-drop photo from facebook page to Gmail contact photo (in Chrome). Currently, I have to save photo to desktop, and upload to gmail contacts, which is tedious.

  19. I noticed that the "Add Friend" button is shown in the Facebook section, even for contacts who are already my Facebook friends. This is confusing -- it should only be shown if the contact is on Facebook and we are not currently friends.

    HI Ayaz,

There are two times when Rapportive gets this wrong — the first time is before you connect to Facebook, then we can’t tell who your friends are; the second time is just after you’ve friended someone. It might take us up to a week to update the status.

We have some ideas on how to make this happen faster, and we’ll keep this message updated as things improve.

    Sorry for the inconvenience,
    Conrad

  20. I get plenty of emails with meetings, appointments, events. Without Rapportive, you can see "add to calendar". With rapportive, its not visible.
