  1. I love the new Google People sidebar in GMail, but I also love Rapportive. I can't use both, as it seems like Rapportive overrides Google People. Is a fix to allow them to co-exist in the works? If not, I would love it to be!

  2. At the moment I have to click "Log in as <email address>" fairly often, probably a few times a week. It would be great if this token would be as long lived as my gmail login cookie.

    Hi Sverre,

If you visit https://google.com/a/cpanel/rabbelier.com/Dashboard, you will see a “Google Apps is changing” notice if your domain is not transitioned.

If it has been transitioned, then clearing the cookies of https://accounts.google.com/ may help you rid yourself of the old state.

That said, it seems equally possible that delegated accounts could cause similar problems, and I know we haven’t added explicit support for them yet.

  4. I suggest you add support for Twitter lists feature. This can be helpful if you want to "tag" (add to list) someone based on a conversation you had with him, or when you follow him.

  5. First of all Rapportive is brilliant! Kudos! It settled right down and got to work.

Now I want to share it with some contacts. Rapportive for all!! Oh, wait. I have to leave the app, go to the site, copy the link - Oh No! ... enthusiasm dimming ... must ... send .. email ... Interruption! New priority! Referral lost so sorry!

A social app that doesn't promote it self socially? Counterintuitive. Did you consider this and reject as too intrusive and presumptuous? What are you? Canadian? :)

I'd like an easy way to tell people how Rapportive is a…

    Hey Patrick,

Thanks for the glowing endorsement :D.

We do already have the “share rapportive on Twitter” button, but perhaps you’re right — we should make it easier to share via email as well.

I’ll keep this idea up-to-date as we begin to work on things,

    Thanks,
    Conrad

  7. The raplets system is very useful when dealing with email threads. However, it would also be useful to have custom raplets in your inbox as well, so you can decide who you need to follow up with next (If it's a CRM) or have other useful information. The gmail inbox is like a dashboard for many people, and this would add a ton of power and flexibility without forcing us to go into third party applicaitons.

    Hey Adrian,

This is something we really want to do — though obviously we need to work out what we can put into your Inbox that is as useful as the per-email sidebar first :).

  8. When I view contact who has a friendly name as well as email address, which is almost always the case, you should search my friends for a match and display their profile information. I connected Facebook and enabled richer profiles, but I get no results for any of my friends, which leads me to believe you are only searching by email address. Most people do not list their email address in their Facebook profile. You should additionally be trying to find their profile by their name.

  10. I have developed an Android app which (besides other things) lets users take notes after every call they make - see here (including demo video): https://market.android.com/details?id=com.handyelephant.apcrm

It would be awesome if user's could sign into Rapportive from within the app (e.g. via oAuth), so that the app could automatically synchronise these notes with Rapportive.

Its other person whose profile that I am interested to know.

    Hi Arun,

Thanks for the note. We already try to show others’ profiles in preference to your own, but it seems like we need to get better. Do you send/receive mail for several different addresses from the same account? That might be confusing Rapportive.

    Best,
    Martin

  13. As you know, Chinese people do not use Facebook or Twitter because the government blocks them. But China is a very huge internet market and there are lots of fans of Rapportive there (I am one of them). Why cannot you talk to China's social network companies and connect them to rapportive?

    Hi Jielong,

That’s a great idea — we’d also love to be more useful to people everywhere.

The main problem is of course, that we can’t read Chinese :(. Do you know if either of these companies have publicly available APIs that Rapportive could use?

  15. Facebook allows you to add a person to a group when you request they be a friend (or if you accept a request). I'd like this option from inside rapportive.

  17. Related to other requests about notes. A task could be implemented as a type of note. The simplest version would just allow for checking off for completion. A more complex sort might allow for a date/time. And one with a link to an email is especially attractive. See how Remember the milk does it.

  18. A business is always going to be looking to get more followers on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Klout, +1s from Google, Likes, etc. Instead of asking people to connect personally, in business you may not want a customer in your personal life, but rather on the appropriate buisness pages and inviting them to join those company pages or send a like, review you on Amazon, etc. would be awesomeness.

    Hi Matt,

Yes — that would be awesomeness indeed :).

We have mechanisms in place to allow you to edit the profile that shows up when the “role-based” emails of your company (sales@, info@, support@ etc.) are looked up; so it wouldn’t be a massive leap to also allow you to like/+1 the links that are on that profile.

    Thanks for the idea!
    Conrad

P.S. If you want changes made to your companies profile — just email them to supportive@rapportive.com, and I’ll do that for you.

  19. For example if you get a notification of a new comment from a friend, see the profile of that friend, instead of the non existent profile for update+h=vrhdfe@facebookmail.com

  20. It would be useful to know, when emailing someone, whether or not they're likely to be on holiday soon.

Not only could you wish them happy-holidays, you'd also know how likely they are to reply to your emails!
