  2. Gmail Calendar Add malfunctions with Rapportive.

    There seems to be an issue with Add to Google Calendar from Gmail when Rapportive is active - it leads to a Google error page, saying the address is too long. This is happening both in Firefox and Chrome at this stage. Any ideas how to fix this?

    Hi Gerald, sorry to hear we might be interfering with the calendar integration. Could you email supportive@rapportive.com with a few more details to help us track this down? The following would help:

    • a screenshot of Gmail while you’re viewing an email with an “Add to Google Calendar” link
    • a screenshot of the error page you see when you click the link

  4. Rapportive not finding people

    Rapportive isn't finding anyone from Facebook/Google+. I've logged into everything, and it manages to find my profile when I pull up an email I sent to myself, but does not find anyone else.

    Thanks for your note, and sorry that we weren’t able to find any profiles for your contacts! Although we try hard, Rapportive isn’t perfect. There can be several reasons why we wouldn’t find profiles: maybe your contacts use different email addresses on social networks, or maybe they have their privacy settings set so that they cannot be found. Sometimes it can also simply take a few hours until we’ve gathered the data.

    We’re continuing to work on making this better — in the meantime, thanks for your patience!

  5. Don't require that I authorise rapportive to tweet on my behalf when integrating with twitter. It _really_ puts me off...

    In order to "follow" someone in twitter I have to authorise your app in twitter. One of the permissions you require is the ability to post tweets. This puts me off as I don't want you to post spam/ads etc. (although I'm trusting you won't...)

    Hi Matt,

    Rapportive asks for permission to send tweets so that we can let you reply and retweet from the sidebar directly.

    Obviously we’ll never send any tweet that you didn’t ask us to send, but I can see how the permission is still scary.

  6. have a refresh button to reload contacts when duplicates have been merged in google contacts

    I sometimes find I have multiple contact entries for the same person In my gmail address book I sometimes find I have duplicates. If I go and merge them together in gmail, when I come back to the message and click Google Contacts, Rapportive finds nothing. I would expect that it would refresh and now show me the additional contact info rather than taking me to the google contacts home and telling me the contact was deleted.

    Hey Joseph, thanks for your note. Rapportive does notice when you’ve merged contacts, and shows the updated information in the sidebar, but it may take 1-2 days for your change to get picked up by the sidebar. We’re looking into ways of speeding this up in future. (A button to reload would be a possibility, but it would add clutter in the 99% of cases when you don’t need it, and so we’re hesitant to add more buttons.)

  8. Allow access to the mMail contact block information

    I should be able to get access to the existing Gmail information and tools, like contacts, all the people in an interaction, etc.

    Rapportive should be additive with Gmail contact management features, not replace them.

    Hi Soren,

    For Contacts that are in your Google Contacts Rapportive will still show you a contact link, and we allow you to switch between people in the conversation by just hovering over an email address or the sender’s name with the mouse.

    We do want to improve this to make it easier to swtich from using Google’s People Widget to Rapportive,

    Hi Laura,

    When you have an email open, click the ‘rapportive’ menu link at the top of Gmail and select “Edit your profile”. This will allow you to remove any out of date links and add any new entries to the profile.

    If you run into any problem, please just reply to this email and let me know which edits you would like and I can make them directly to your data.

    Hi Paul,

    A self-service mechanism for unlinking Crunchbase profiles would be awesome, though we haven’t got round to building it yet.

    If you’d like to send me (supportive@rapportive.com) the email addresses that you notice have wrong Crunchbase profiles I can quickly add them to the internal blacklist.

  18. Fix please this instant "FC" when close gmail tab in Firefox 10.0 and 11beta2 on Ubuntu 10.10 10.10

    On Ubuntu 10.10 rapportive 1.3.7 make instant Firefox crashes every time when I close tab with my gmail account.
    Tested on FF 10.0 and 11 beta 2
    Please fix this issue.

    Do not validate names. It seems like my name came over from another service, and it was suggested that I move to "Victor Goff Iiii" when the original source had "III" correctly done. Leave my name alone, and I will try my hardest not to mangle yours, OK?
