Keep me logged into Rapportive and LinkedIn on Google Apps
Every time I login to Google Apps Mail, I have to login into Rapportive and LinkedIn. Didn't use to face this problem on GMail.
1 voteHi there, thanks for your message. Sorry to hear about the login problems. Maybe you need to enable third-party cookies, as described here: http://rapportive.com/help#bugs
If you’re still having issues, please email us directly at supportive@rapportive.com and we’ll try to sort it out for you.
Cheers, Martin

Have to keep reconnecting to Facebook
This seems to be new behavior. Rapportive wants me to log into Facebook, which means I have to connect to Google, and everything is fine. Up until the next day when I have to keep do the process all over again.
1 voteHi Bryan,
Hmm, this shouldn’t happen at all, when you log into Rapportive the first time, we should remember that forever.
Out of interest, are you using Google’s Multiple Signin feature? (you would know if you are). [Feel free to email your answer to supportive@rapportive.com, or reply here, whatever’s easiest]

Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch — and thank you for using Rapportive :).
Every time you close your GMail we log you out of Rapportive, so just click “sign out” on your GMail tab. You will see the Rapportive menu say “Signing you out of Rapportive”.
Is this good enough?

Couchsurfing Integration
Would be very interesting to have couchsurfing profile integragration. While traveling could be useful reading e-mail about couchrequest reply and having a quick access to the host or surfer information.
1 voteHey Andrea,
That’s an awesome idea — out of interest does the email that couchsurfer sends you contain the email address of the person?

Hey Randy,
Which Facebook account do you want displayed? Shall I make this email address show all the Googleness information from your other email addresses?
Thanks

Current update says it's 4GB? I don't think so!
I've noticed the latest update (hey, I've got portable copies to update) shows it as 4 GB. Somehow I don't think so, and yes, it's just cosmetic, but it's a bit of a shock to us 3.X users who see that. I don't see the size being listed under 4.0.
1 voteHi Bryan,
Thanks for getting in touch — that sounds really wierd!.
The latest version of Rapportive is Rapportive-1.2, and the extension file is about 10kb, certainly nowhere near 4Gb!
Would you be able to send a screenshot of this crazy message to supportive@rapportive.com so we can figure out what to do about it?

Hi Randy,
At the moment when I look at your profile (randy@diversepath.com) I can see the image from LinkedIn — is this not what you see?
Can you drop me an email at supportive@rapportive.com?
Thanks

Hi Nick,
Thanks for getting in touch, and thanks for using Rapportive!
The sidebar lookup that you see when you hover over support@yatedo.com is a summary that we automatically generated from their homepage — just like the snippet of text underneath the Google search listing (in this case, exactly the same text!).
We show this for the same reason that Google does, in order to give you a quick summary of their website, without you having to navigate there.
Does that re-assure you at all? Can you think of a way we could make it clearer what’s going on?

Brightly distinguish the Facebook comments box" from the "Add a note on this person" box (!!!)
Brightly distinguish the Facebook comments box" from the "Add a note on this person" box (!!!) and prevent the accidental publication of private notes on FB :-)
1 voteHI Kristen,
Ouch — that could be really embarrassing! I’ll try and think of something we can do to make them more distinct without making it look like a mess — do you have any ideas?

Hi Chris,
At the moment there’s no way to do this. Would you mind telling me (either here or by email to supportive@rapportive.com) why you want to do this?

Facebook links offerred by Rapportive sidebar should use https
Otherwise, I'm vulnerable to FireSheep if I'm browsing in public. Even if I tell FB to always use https, the rapportive link gives me an http connection. I'm using mailplane and chrome on Mac OS X.
1 voteFred, thanks very much for this suggestion. We will try to offer this soon.
To the best of my knowledge, if you have configured Facebook to use https then this isn’t actually needed for Facebook links, because Facebook will immediately redirect you to the secure https page without leaking your cookies. (This is just the same as typing facebook.com directly in your browser’s address bar.) So if you have already configured Facebook this way, then you shouldn’t be at any risk as a result of clicking on links in Rapportive.

Thanks, this is something we’d consider. However, we don’t have people’s full address, unless you’ve added the address to your Google Contacts. Do you have postal addresses in your Google Contacts?

Hi Peggy, I’m afraid I don’t understand — we already try to look up social network profiles for your contacts, even without hitting a button. It doesn’t always succeed, but we’re working on improving it.
Can you give a bit more detail, to help me understand your idea?
Thanks, Martin

Hi Emil, thanks for the suggestion. Doesn’t Gmail already show the user’s Google Talk status next to the sender name in the email?

display a Notes and/or Description field in my profile, for me to fill in
I would like to be able to write one or two lines of text in my own profile, for others to see when they look up my email address.
Mentioning it's a personal/private email address, or that they should starting some other address instead for example.1 voteHi jjwa,
Ok, thanks for clarifying — that makes a lot of sense!
I’ll keep the story up-to-date as we make progress in that direction,

add other email services
is there a similar program that works with other emails besides gmail?
1 voteHi David,
We’re certainly likely to move Rapportive into other email clients, but it’s a very long-term goal (there’s still plenty to do in gmail!).
There’s a company, Xobni, who provide a similar service for Outlook, if you need a quick-fix in the meantime.

Hi Michael,
I thought we only asked for feedback when we had nothing useful to display — or is that still too distracting?

Edit Sitelinks for a Websites Contact Email
This might be a confusing title but right now you cannot edit the sitelinks that show up for a profile of a Websites Contact Email. Example; Contact@website.com . It seems to be determined by the info it pulls from the sites meta data and site structure. For us who don't have design talent some of the links aren't useful to include and it would be nice to delete the uneccesarry links for a cleaner profile.
1 voteHi Susan,
We’re definitely going to do this in the future. In the meantime, please email supportive@rapportive.com and we’ll fix up any profiles you want fixed.

allow combining your claimed addresses in different groups
I have multiple email addresses using my real name, and multiple addresses using my online nickname. I would like to combine my claimed addresses in two separate groups, one related each of these names. I assume others will have different but similar uses for combining into different groups too :).
1 voteHi again Jjwa :),
Another awesome idea — thank you! We left this out of version 1 of the feature, because we thought it might be a bit confusing. Now we know that people really want it, we can add it in the future.
