I would like to be able to write one or two lines of text in my own profile, for others to see when they look up my email address.
Mentioning it's a personal/private email address, or that they should starting some other address instead for example.

Yes, the "about me" field sounds fine. It does not really matter what you call it (or maybe you even allow us to type the title for the field ourselves!), as long as we can write a little bit there, it can be quite helpful :).
But being able to claim/link/manage your addresses further always helps to improve Rapportive of course :).
