  5. if you could integrate with g-mail canned responses, it may be possible to use user information to build canned e-mail responses customized to that person - easiest example, pull their name into the response: "Hi (rapportive field)" how are you?

  7. While it is a paid option, it will allow this great tool to greatly expand its presence into CRM's, and other software that requires building relationships with peers, advisors, clients, etc.

  11. I use gmail's older version when my main account is being slow (stuck on loading) or when I want to see all of my labels. Rapportive doesn't appear at all in the older version, no profile, no link.

  12. Sometimes I miss it...for instance it will have automatically generated links to calendar or maps. Sometimes I even want to see the ads! So there should be a way to get it back temporarily.

    Hey Mike,

    1. We’re still collecting feedback on how valuable people find the adverts. Thanks for your feedback; it’s very valuable to us.

    2. We actually show all the automatically generated links such as calendar or map links; we know people value these highly and we do not wish to remove them! Sometimes, Gmail isn’t great at extracting and will miss them. If they don’t appear in Rapportive, it’s because Gmail hasn’t found them.

    Does that help?

    Best,
    Rahul

  13. When I pop up the Gmail task list, it covers up Rapportive. I would like to be able to see both my task list and Rapportive.

Ok, I see what is happening here. Thank you for letting us know (I never use the tasks myself, so I didn’t notice!). I have noted the problem and will see what we can do to fix it.

For now, it’s probably best if you pop out your tasks into a separate window.

    Best, Martin

  14. I updated my Linked in profile a couple weeks ago with a new job but that position does not seem to show up on Rapportive in Chrome when I view my own profile.

That’s a pretty good idea, though it might be quite complicated (both to implement and use) to provide something that works in every circumstance.

Just out of curiosity, how big an image where you thinking of displaying?, What would you like to happen when it’s a company profile instead of a user?

This is a good idea, we’ll be changing our login system over the next fortnight, so it’s important to appreciate the difference between the GMail address and the Rapportive user’s authenticated email address. While at the moment there’s only one Rapportive user in a browser, we expect that to change.

  17. i use seamonkey, becouse i hope that in the future can develop the tab-mail reading, with the e-mail client in the same browser's window.

    Hi Nicola,

    Thanks for the idea!

We want to support more platforms in the future, but it’s very hard to give guarantees on when we’ll manage any particular one.

    I’ll keep you updated,

    Conrad

  18. If I resize the text of my gmail window, (command+ '-'), the rapportive sidebar shifts left and overlaps with gmail space.

    HI Sam,

Thank you for getting in touch, and sorry for the time it’s taken me to reply.

I’ve tried a few things, but I can’t seem to get Rapportive to shift left like you describe. Would you have the time to email a screenshot of the problem to supportive@rapportive.com? (To take a screenshot, press command+shift+3, and it will appear on your desktop).

    Yours
    Conrad

Hi Nikodem, thanks for getting in touch.

Eventually, we’d like to use all the data-sources we can find, particularly for non-English speakers, we don’t find as much as we should yet. Hopefully this will be fixed as time goes on.

    Hi Shahar,

That’s very odd. For the moment, we’re just showing what Gmail finds for package numbers and maps, etc. I’m not sure we can fix it directly, but we may look into writing support ourselves in the future. We’ll watch out for this problem then,

    Thanks
    Conrad
