Do not show Twitter mentions
Currently you also see mentions in Twitter updates. As mentions are addressed to only one person, I think it does not make sense to show these. It would be best to only show real status updates and not the mentions.
19 votesHi Anton,
That’s a very good point. We’ve found that the conversation view of Rapportive (if you hover over a tweet, you can see the entire conversation) can be quite cool sometimes, and that mostly uses the mentions to work.
That said, we could filter them out optionally so that you got a better view of what people say unprompted.

Hi Randy,
Interesting.. you might have to manually “remove” the old Facebook link — just hover over it and click “remove”.

Include Google+ feeds for that contact
I suspect that this is already on your radar, but it would be nice to see Google+ added to rapportive, and for G+ support to include a display of public posts/posts shared with me.
93 votesHi Chris,
This is definitely something we’ll look into supporting — we just have to wait for Google to release an API :).

Hi Kenneth,
Are you using the latest preview version of Mailplane: http://mailplaneapp.com/download/preview.
I think it fixes some issues with the Rapportive integration.
Please let me know how you get on (either here, or at supportive@rapportive.com)
Thanks :).

Automatically switch account
When I switch accounts in Gmail/Google Apps Rapportive should automatically switch to my Rapportive profile regarding that account.
3 votesHi Jonathan,
Thanks for getting in touch, and thank you for using Rapportive.
We should already do this — though it’s possible we don’t handle some cases correctly.
Would you be able to send me a summary of what kind of Gmail accounts you have to supportive@rapportive.com?
Have you used the Rapportive switch account menu in the past? Thanks!

Allow Google People and Rapportive to co-exist
I love the new Google People sidebar in GMail, but I also love Rapportive. I can't use both, as it seems like Rapportive overrides Google People. Is a fix to allow them to co-exist in the works? If not, I would love it to be!
3 votesHi James,
We do actually show you the information from the people widget, without you even having to click on “more details”. See our blog post http://blog.rapportive.com/rapportive-integrates-gmail-people-widget for more details.

Fix the error with the Google Chat link.
Clicking on Google Chat should start a chat with the currently highlighted person, not with the person who initiated the e-mail thread.
2 votesI mtf,
Thanks for getting in touch. We’ve tried pretty hard to make this not happen, but it seems you’ve hit a case we can’t handle!
Would it be possible for you to describe the email in question (or just send a screenshot) to supportive@rapportive.com
Thanks!

Hi Dan,
We used to show these where the “Call” button is now — but we thought that that was more useful.
Don’t worry though, the information is still there, if you hover over the button you will see a black hovercard appear which will say “Phone John’s number” or words-to-that-effect.
Is that useful enough for you?

Display recent and upcoming events you are both attending from Google Calendar
Display the most current six events both you and the sender has/is attending. Primarily this would should events from your Google Calendar they are invited to, but showing any LinkedIn or Facebook events accessible to both of you would also help make connections.
9 votesHi Nick,
Thanks for getting in touch! This is a great idea — particularly aggregating events from multiple places :).
I’ll keep this story up to date as we think about it more.

Add a connection to the Mac address book and to Skype
I think it would be great if Rapportive could connect contacts on Gmail with both the Mac address book and with Skype.

Dude, you're blocking my view!
It sucks, the box gets in the way and I can't read some part of my email message. Uninstalled.
6 votesHi Hendra,
Thanks for getting in touch, and thanks for letting us know — that certainly should not happen.
Would you have a moment to send me a screenshot of what you saw, so that we can try and fix this problem for everyone?
Thanks a lot!

Show the group actions buttons from the People Widget
Rapportive currently doesn't provide a way to "Start a group chat". "invite everyone to a Google Calendar event", or "email the current group of people".
32 votesHi All,
We’re planning to do this, if you vote for this idea, we’ll be able to prioritise accordingly; and as a nice bonus, we’ll let you know when it’s done :).

Add a Rapportive referral button
First of all Rapportive is brilliant! Kudos! It settled right down and got to work.
Now I want to share it with some contacts. Rapportive for all!! Oh, wait. I have to leave the app, go to the site, copy the link - Oh No! ... enthusiasm dimming ... must ... send .. email ... Interruption! New priority! Referral lost so sorry!
A social app that doesn't promote it self socially? Counterintuitive. Did you consider this and reject as too intrusive and presumptuous? What are you? Canadian? :)
I'd like an easy way to tell people how Rapportive is a…
0 votesHey Patrick,
Thanks for the glowing endorsement :D.
We do already have the “share rapportive on Twitter” button, but perhaps you’re right — we should make it easier to share via email as well.
I’ll keep this idea up-to-date as we begin to work on things,
Thanks,

Allow creation of custom fields
Custom fields would help bridge the gap between this and a CRM. Notes are nice, but actual fields are a lot more useful.
8 votesHi Adrian,
That’s a really interesting idea — we do actually have a little something in the works that should help in similar cases.
If you’re interested in getting very early beta access, please drop a line to supportive@rapportive.com, and I’ll send you the instructions.

Enable raplets to be used throughout Gmail
The raplets system is very useful when dealing with email threads. However, it would also be useful to have custom raplets in your inbox as well, so you can decide who you need to follow up with next (If it's a CRM) or have other useful information. The gmail inbox is like a dashboard for many people, and this would add a ton of power and flexibility without forcing us to go into third party applicaitons.
3 votesHey Adrian,
This is something we really want to do — though obviously we need to work out what we can put into your Inbox that is as useful as the per-email sidebar first :).

Allow me to stop lookups for specific email addresses
There are certain email addresses I dont want to see details from. I want to be able to stop Rapportive from searching my social networks for those email addresses
6 votesHi James,
Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the clarification.

LinkedIn shows as "connected" even if I cancel the connect request
If I cancel out of a Rapportive LinkedIn connect request, I still see an update to the contact's LinkedIn widget as "connected."
2 votesHey Shawn,
Thanks for pointing this out. It’s definitely a problem that we’re jumping on to fix as soon as we can!

Add & synchronise notes through other apps (web and mobile) via an API
I have developed an Android app which (besides other things) lets users take notes after every call they make - see here (including demo video): https://market.android.com/details?id=com.handyelephant.apcrm
It would be awesome if user's could sign into Rapportive from within the app (e.g. via oAuth), so that the app could automatically synchronise these notes with Rapportive.
3 votesHI B W,
You can already show extra information inside Rapportive using our Raplets API (http://code.rapportive.com/).
Is that any good?

I want to add a given contact to a google label filter.
I want to click a button that adds Joe to my "work" label.
3 votesHi Alyssa,
Thanks for getting in touch.
This is something which we’ve been thinking about, but we’re not sure the best way to present it.
Could you perhaps describe the way you use labels in Google Contacts (either here or to supportive@rapportive.com)
Thanks,

When you wildly guess a Facebook profile based on "same name", mark it as a guess.
Apparently some (all? most? much?) of the Rapportive profile data is based on educated guesses of what online profiles correspond with an email address.
I just figured out that Rapportive's insistence on picking some strange user icon for my gmail address, instead of its gravatar, was due to it having associated me with some bloke on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/johan.sundstrom1) which seems to bear my name.
I would appreciate some kind of indicator of "we're guessing wildly on loose grounds here", as opposed to really solid, provable kinds of data like "this gravatar really does belong to the email address…
3 votesThanks for getting in touch, this is something we’ve been meaning to do for a while.
I just took a look and the incorrect data on your profile came from an old provider we no longer use — anything in the future should be up-to-date.
If you have any other problems, feel free to let us know either here or at support@rapportive.com!
