Make Rapportive a 'hover over' object on selected pages or objects...
6 votesHi again :),
That’s an awesome idea! Did you have an idea for what kind of objects you’d most like to hover over?

Hi,
We’re definitely planning some kind of mobile Rapportive integration in the future. We’re not yet sure what it will look like, but it will almost certainly be integrated with your Gmail in some way :).

make the info window collapsible. I use zemanta 2 enhance emails. Your window covers Zemanta .
My Zemanta window is obliterated by Rapportive, which appears on top and won't move.
4 votesHi Gretchen,
That’s not great :(. I tried installing Zemanta, but it doesn’t show up in my Gmail — is there any chance you could send a screenshot to supportive@rapportive.com so we can see what the problem is?
Thanks.

Facebook "Like"
I miss the names of those who liked a post in the Facebook integration.
3 votesHi Reshma,
Thanks for the idea — why didn’t we think of that!

Let me choose which features r shown. Even delete the social media and only show the notes I put in
I want my notes to appear on top of everything. Not face, twitter or linkedin
3 votesHi André,
That’s a really good idea, definitely something we’ll consider!
We tried to make Rapportive show you the information that’s relevant, though it’s not always successful automatically.

Hi Nash,
At the moment there isn’t, but I also agree it would be a cool feature to have :).
Thanks for submitting the idea, and don’t hesitate to let us know if you have more.

Send URL to raplet on mouse over
I would love to make a rapplet to parse scriptlance links in the email to show an open/closed status. It seems like the API only sends name, email and twitter usernames. Could you change this behavior with a custom rapplet? i.e. to parse for links matching x and send them to the custom rapplet URI.
3 votesHi Andy,
We were thinking of adding a parameter to the raplet protocol that says “Please can I see too”. I think that would be usable as a way of getting the subject :).
Unfortunately that’s not likely to happen for a little time, as we’re pretty busy right now, but I’ll let you know when it’s available.

Stop showing own profile while composing a message
My own profile shows when I am composing an email.

Currently can't log in to LinkedIn et al.
I hit the link to login with LinkedIn, Google, Facebook, it appears to happen, then Rapportive refreshes, and it still says I need to login.
2 votesHi,
Thanks for getting in touch, and thank you for using Rapportive.
We deployed a change to the Rapportive code on Saturday that may have caused similar problems (we didn’t notice any in testing, but there’s always a chance we missed something).
Have you tried refreshing Gmail this week?

Please update the facebook raplet
When I insert http://facebook.com/therandybowen
I get the profile for
http://facebook.com/googleness
Please fix, or advise how to fix.Thank You
1 voteRandy,
This should now be fixed the next time you refresh Gmail.
I was looking in our database, and there are some patterns there with your Facebook account I’ve never seen before — Out of interest have you changed the Facebook urls for your accounts at some point in the past?

Hi David,
Thanks for noticing this (we ought to do this already, but it seems to have become broken).
I’ll try and fix this this week.

make it an option to hide Rapportive in the compose window
I love Rapportive, but I don't want it to show up in the Compose window (as it now does). It's just not useful for me, and it's taking up screen real estate in an ugly, hacky way.
There should be an option to remove Rapportive from the compose window.
17 votesHi Chris,
Thanks for the idea, it’s definitely something we’re considering.
Out of interest, which Gmail theme do you use, and what size is your screen?

I'm tired of deleting the twitter link. Why can't it stay deleted?
make the twitter link remember to stay deleted.
0 votesHi,
Thanks for getting in touch, and sorry for the delay.
Can you please let me know what email address this is happening on?

Hi Guys,
A Masterbranch Raplet would be awesome, though we’re unlikely to have the time to build one for you in the near future.
Would one of you like to create it for us? The API is documented at http://code.rapportive.com/.
If you need a hand, feel free to email supportive@rapportive.com
Thanks!

have a way for people to see the information without it interfering with the mail you are reading.
I am finding that this is a great tool, but I cant find a way to read my mail now, it is being cut off by the rapportive, which as you might imagine is annoying. If there are settings, I can't find them,
1 voteHi Diane,
Ugh — that’s really not supposed to happen!
Can you please send a screenshot (see http://take-a-screenshot.org/) and email it to supportive@rapportive.com — that should enable us to see what’s broken so that we can try to fix it.
Thanks!

Allow fetching of data from Freelance Networks
Many freelance networks send notifications about message board posts and only include their user id. If there could be a way of grouping these in the recent messages. Also if a contact adds a new freelance job, to display it in the feed. I know Freelancer.com has a pretty comprehensive API http://www.freelancer.com/info/api.php

Add support for BOINC profiles
Not very elegant URLs but here's an example (cpid query parameter is the variable): http://boinc.netsoft-online.com/e107_plugins/boinc/get_user.php?cpid=54be14e4497c3ea79c7546e55c7b4794&html=1

allow users to request a Shared Dropbox folder invite.
Sharing a Dropbox folder through Rapportive might be useful. Dropbox has a public folder but it's configured to only permit sharing of individual files, not the entire directory. But there is a shared folders function, you just have to invite users via email. Perhaps a Dropbox raplet for a shared directory specified by the user, and a "Share Files" button, that alerts the Dropbox owner one of their contacts would like access?
5 votesHi Jonah,
Interesting idea — let me be sure I’ve got what you’re suggesting:
I (on my Rapportive profile) publish my dropbox folder, and then you (my friend) can see that I have a shared dropbox folder and ask for access to it with a single click?
