Add contact info found in email
A contact I email with just emailed me to say "give me a call at (xxx) xxx-xxxx. I would love to be able to easily add this number to my contact in gmail/rapportive. Right now I have to copy the number, go to the contacts list and paste it in. Can rapportive store info not explicitly found on social networks? Is there a gmail API to edit contact details?

Hi again Robert,
This is something we should really do! At the moment we just use guesswork to see whether or not you’re a company or a person, but allowing you to make that change yourself is a good idea!
Again this is something we can fix if you let us know which email address you want changing by emailing supportive@rapportive.com
Thanks,

remove claim to email address
I want to remove my claim to email address. How do I do this?
12 votesHi Robert,
At the moment there’s no way to do this yourself, but just shoot us an email to supportive@rapportive.com, and we can do it for you.
We didn’t want to spend too much time making this happeng before we understood why people would need to do this, so it would be great if you could explain why you want to.
Thanks for getting in touch,
Conrad

integrate with Adium
so that when using Adium, you can either mouse over or right click to get rapportive data on the user.
2 votesHi Greg,
Thanks — that’s an awesome idea!. I’m not sure how much time we’ll have to work on Rapportive outside of Gmail, but this would be a pretty good fun place to start :).
Thanks again,
Conrad

clicking on google contacts should open in same tab chrome
Currently in Chrome, when I click the Google Contacts link on the right in rapportive. I get the contact page open in a new tab. Shouldn't it open quickly in place?
3 votesHi Michael,
That’s a rather good point! I’ll have a look and see how hard it would be to change this.
Thanks for pointing it out,

Launch a Blackberry App for Rapportive
Please launch a Blackberry App for rapportive which will give us a pop-up with all the details of that email ID, when we click on any email address.
31 votesThank you, that’s a good idea — we’ll keep it in mind when we expand Rapportive to platforms other than Gmail!

Building Contact Database
Since rapportive is able to connect to various social networking sites, cant it built a parallel address book which remains most updated with information / changes from the social networking sites.
1 voteHi Vaibhav,
In a way we already do that — are you wanting a way to see the information that we’re storing about all your contacts at the same time, instead of just in the side of your Gmail?

Thanks Liz. Can you clarify a bit more: where do you think the information should come from? (you address book? social networks? will you enter it yourself?) Would you want to see the information in the sidebar shortly before/after the date, or anytime? Our space in the sidebar is very limited, so we don’t want to take up more space than we have to.

Thanks Drew, good idea. Most of our raplets are made by the vendors themselves, since they have the best understanding of what their users want. Can I suggest that you get in touch with InfusionSoft and ask them to make a raplet? We’re more than happy to help them with the process.

Identify profile(s) on the current webpage (using url and embedded microformats)
I need the following scenario to work:
- Identify profile(s) on the current webpage (using url and embedded microformats)
- Complete the information with Rapportive-collected data
- Merge into Google Contacts

Build Everything that as ever been asked for
Given so many features asked for, I thought it would be wise to aggregate them all under one coherent request. Here it is ^. Thanks!
3 votesHi Kirill, thank you :D We’re always working hard, building things that people are asking for — we will probably never finish this task, but I can safely say that it’s happening right now!

Fix tabbing to "Send and Archive" and "Send" buttons
I have send and archive as default. I used to be able to tab straight from this to Send, next to it. This was great. Now however tabbing from send and archive seems to take me straight from send and archive to rapportive, which is really annoying - I have to manually use my mouse to send.
3 votesHi Joshua, thanks for pointing this out. This seems do be a change made by Gmail — I don’t think it’s Rapportive’s fault! We are investigating what we can do about this. In the meantime, try reloading your Gmail tab — that sometimes fixes it for me.

show matchFWD in my Rapportive profile.
We've just added a matchFWD raplet (url is matchfwd.com/rapportive/matchfwd_rapplet/(yes with a typo, blame the intern) but it'd be cool to be able to also show it in my Rapportive profile.
matchFWD is a cool new tool to ask for referrals from your contacts when hiring.
6 votesHi Philippe, thanks for your note. The way that raplets work is that every user gets to choose which raplets they want to see; we can’t just show it to everyone who looks up your profile. However, you can give the raplet link to anyone who wants to see matchFWD information in Rapportive, and they will use the raplet.
Does that help? You can also contact us directly at supportive@rapportive.com to discuss further.

add calendar function for emails with meeting and appointsments
I get plenty of emails with meetings, appointments, events. Without Rapportive, you can see "add to calendar". With rapportive, its not visible.

Hi,
I can see why this would be useful. While we probably don’t have time to develop this just yet, there is a great API for developing your own blocks (called Raplets) for Rapportive.
If you’re interested, you can find the documentation at http://code.rapportive.com — if you end up doing something with it before us, we’d love to see!

I get a lot of newsletter subscriptions and would like to manage them in one place.
Sometimes I want to unsubscribe to a newsletter or reinstate an old subscription. Having an area similar to the Rapportive column to manage e-newsletters would be very helpful.
I imagine a list with all current subscriptions and a checkbox to turn on and off there ability to find their way into your inbox. The ability to categorize lists and possibly an area for companies to offer their newsletter based on your likes.
3 votesHi John, that’s an interesting idea — we’ll see if we can fit it in. It is unfortunately a bit far from what Rapportive currently does, so maybe it would be a better problem for someone else to attack!

Show emails from other people at the same domain
It would be really helpful to find all the messaged from all the addresses of the sender's domain, not only from the addressitself. For example you get a message from name@domain.com, you can easily check "Recent conversation" with this person, it is a simple link to gmail search "from:name@domain.com OR to:name@domain.com". Could you please make one more link like "From same domain" which pointing to search "from:name@domain.com OR to:name@domain.com" (the search works, I tried it, just make a link please)
29 votesThis is a really interesting idea, thank you. I think it would be useful to show a list of people you know at a domain, and also the emails you’ve exchanged with them.
We’re still working out how to present that in a way that is friendly and easy to understand.

Fix Rapportive when PeerBlock is On
Why does Rapportive become blocked when Peer Block is on? What IPs should be unblocked?
3 votesHi Ganesh,
Rapportive is hosted on Heroku, which is in turn based on Amazon’s cloud computing architecture. I imagine that you have some blacklists that are overly sensitive, perhaps because of previous owners of our IP addresses.
At the moment, Rapportive is using two IP addresses, but that is very likely to change in the future. Does it work if you unblock 184.73.207.113 and 184.72.249.23?
