ignore networks with outdated activity
Until you can make a profile fully editable, here's an easier fix. Simply ignore networks that haven't had any activity in the last 6 months. My email address is listing a MySpace account. One that by Rapleaf's own data shows I haven't touched in OVER 2 YEARS.
19 votesThanks for this suggestion! It’s currently hard for us to tell from our data sources when a profile was last updated, but we’re working on that.
In the meantime, you’ll be glad to know that we’ve rolled out editing functionality for your own profile: just go to “My Profile” at the bottom of any sidebar while logged in, and hover over the information you want to edit.

Do not show Twitter mentions
Currently you also see mentions in Twitter updates. As mentions are addressed to only one person, I think it does not make sense to show these. It would be best to only show real status updates and not the mentions.
19 votesHi Anton,
That’s a very good point. We’ve found that the conversation view of Rapportive (if you hover over a tweet, you can see the entire conversation) can be quite cool sometimes, and that mostly uses the mentions to work.
That said, we could filter them out optionally so that you got a better view of what people say unprompted.

Create a Raplet for Speakerfile
Rapportive could be a major help for event planners looking for speakers at their conferences. Speakerfile is an online expert network and events marketplace that provides a better way to connect industry and professional speakers with global events and media. Offered as a free service to event organizers it's a faster way to discover, evaluate and efficiently connect with speakers using rich-media profiles, advanced search, and private connection features. There are thousands of experts with profiles now on Speakerfile

Rapportive should develop an Android app to enhance the "People" app updates data and display new status updates when receiving a call
The Rapportive data collected/displayed on Gmail could really enhance the users experience on their Android phones by syncing those data to their contacts list. Rapportive could also overlay latest status update when receiving a call

please don't shrink the Gmail search field
I have always wondered this. Why does Rapportive shrink the search field at the top of the Gmail interface?
For the complex searches I often do, it is too small.
Can it please be put back to it's original size please?
I use, and like Rapportive. I would hate to have to turn it off, just to get my Gmail search bar's width back to normal again.
Can this be fixed, please?18 votes -
Let users search manually for email adresses

View and search all the notes that I've entered
I've entered notes for different contacts, but there's no way for me to view the notes unless I read a conversation. It would be nice if I can have access to all notes that I entered. Better still, it I can view only "active" notes.
17 votesThat’s a very good point — I agree that notes would be a lot more useful if you didn’t have to go to an email from that contact in order to see them.
We’re figuring out ways to make this happen. Thanks for your input!

make it an option to hide Rapportive in the compose window
I love Rapportive, but I don't want it to show up in the Compose window (as it now does). It's just not useful for me, and it's taking up screen real estate in an ugly, hacky way.
There should be an option to remove Rapportive from the compose window.
17 votesHi Chris,
Thanks for the idea, it’s definitely something we’re considering.
Out of interest, which Gmail theme do you use, and what size is your screen?

Allow users to choose or vote on the pictures found in social networks
On of my contacts has a company logo for his twitter account. However his facebook has a much better logo of him. There should be some sort of choose a good photo, or vote on photos so that it knows not to use the crappy one.
16 votesGreat idea! We’d love you to be able to choose the best photo from a selection. We will look into this as part of our work on generally letting you specify information for your contacts: http://rapportive.com/feedback/529989

Incorporate contact info found on social networking sites
Include all the contact info that is listed on all the various social networking sites. For instance, note the person's other email addresses, phone #s, instant Messager screen names, Skype IDs, etc. that are listed on facebook, linkedin, etc.
This will augment the contact info you already have + make it easy for you to contact the person you're corresponding with if you have any questions about their email or whatnot.
16 votesThis is a great idea, thanks! We do plan to make more use of information that is already available on various sites, to the extent that we are allowed to use it.

Add appointments to calendar from Rapportive
I have a service based business, so I set up sales demos and recurring appointments. I create these in Google Calendar and invite the other person (by putting their email address under "attendees"). I would like rapportive to show a list of all appointments with that individual from most current back, or a list of the most current 5 then option to show more... So next time they contact me via email, I can see when our last few appointments were, and if possible click on the appointment and it would be linked to that calendar event to open to…
16 votesThanks, great idea! I’d imagine this would be a huge time-saver if you do a lot of scheduling of meetings. We will look into it and figure out how we could do this nicely.

Not the right person
put a this is not the right person option. I have had several mismatches
16 votesHi Stephen,
Great idea! For the moment we’ve been encouraging users to email supportive@rapportive.com when they notice broken profiles (and I’d encourage you to do the same :) — a button would be a huge improvement.
Thanks

Include Skype profiles automatically in order for people to be able to call you.
Rapportive should take your email adress and by searching on Skype, to deliver your username in your profile
16 votesHi Vlad,
We’d love to support this too, though I can’t yet give an estimate as to when we might be able to.
Thanks for the reminder,

Allow users to manage the positioning / scrolling so Rapportive will work with Cirrus Insight
Rapportive is awesome. Cirrus insight is a great tool for users of Salesforce. They almost work together, its just when you scroll down an email thread, the rapportive section repositions itself, rather than staying at the top of the screen, so it bumps cirrus insight out of the way.
If there was a way for users to select to turn off the auto positioning / repositioning, so rapportive would remain fixed on the page, rather than moving with the scrolling, it would allow me to easily use both extensions simultaneously.
15 votesHi Gorav,
Thanks for the kind words!
We may be able to automatically detect other extensions such as Cirrus Insight, and automatically disable our scrolling behavior. I’ll do some investigation.
However, Gmail itself now uses the floating style of scrolling when viewing conversations – its People Widget has the same scrolling properties as Rapportive. This means Cirrus Insight will get hidden even for users without Rapportive: it might be best for Cirrus Insight to add enhancements to also scroll automatically.
Best,
Lee. -

Show Fedex/UPS/USPS delivery timeline directly inside Rapportive
It's really annoying to have to open a new tab and google search or to click a hotlinked tracking number. If you could display the delivery timeline in the rapportive search bar, that would be fantastic.
14 votesThat’s a great idea! We’ll have a look if this is possible.
