    Hi Jeffrey,

Thanks for getting in touch, and sorry about this!

We’ve been experiencing some delays with our database that can mean that notes are delayed in appearing.

We’re definitely hoping to fix this soon!

  2. Because I use a browser window set to a particular size, the Rapportive layer at the side of my Gmail window sits on top of the Gmail scrollbar, which prevents me from easily scrolling down the window.

Please set Rapportive so that it sits beneath Gmail's scrollbar!

  4. It would be interesting (though possibly difficult) if Rapportive could discover the websites or blogs people publish from. And put a link to those places in the Rapportive sidebar.

An easy attempt would be to grab web addresses from their signature. Even better would be to find some way to connect the email address to blogs - maybe Feedburner offers such a thing? Maye there are other ways to go about this too.

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for the reminder! We are planning to do something along these lines, though there are a few technical hurdles to get past first.

I’ll update this idea when we have some progress,
    Conrad

  6. I noticed that some of the rapportive profiles include a summary of their website and links to website pages like "about" "blog" "products" etc. Profiles I'm referring to include Vimeo and Society6. Can I create a similar feature on my rapportive profile for my website? Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

If you send an email to supportive@rapportive.com with the email address that you use to send email about your blog, I can update its sidebar to look like the websites’.

Feel free to include a paragraph of description and some links, otherwise I’ll just let the Rapportive parser have a go at generating them automatically from your blog.

    Conrad

  7. See http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/12/gmail-and-contacts-get-better-with.html
I love that Rapportive currently does NOT detract ANYTHING of value from the GMail interface... but today Google dropped in a very rapportive-like feature, which gets squashed by rapportive.
You've only had a few HOURS to work on it, but I thought I'd open the suggestion anyway.

  10. I suspect that this is already on your radar, but it would be nice to see Google+ added to rapportive, and for G+ support to include a display of public posts/posts shared with me.

  12. Enable feedback on Rapportive suggestions to make the entire system a learning machine. In addition enable confidence on suggested background based on confirmed user feedback and weighted remote api calls/known sources.

    Hi Mark,

This is something we’ve been thinking about internally for ages.

I’m not sure when we’ll have the time to implement it, but we’ll be sure to let you know when it’s available.

    Hi Christopher,

I think our emails got crossed, sorry! I see your comment with the detailed example now, that’s awesome, thanks. :)

Could you email supportive@rapportive.com with the email addresses that would be better flagged as role-based? We have a set of rules (based on the username of an email address) but we can override them manually when needed.

    Thanks,
    Lee.

  14. When I receive a digest from a Google Group (e.g. django-non-relational@googlegroups.com) it would be far more useful to see the description of the group rather than a generic blurb about Google Groups.

(In the general case, many mailing lists are recognised by GMail, producing text of the form "mailing list python-list.python.org Filter messages from this mailing list".)

    Hi All,

We’re planning to do this, if you vote for this idea, we’ll be able to prioritise accordingly; and as a nice bonus, we’ll let you know when it’s done :).

  19. Installed on Firefox ok, then checked Gmail, nothing there.

    What exactly does Rapportive do?

Could you provide some better installation and use instructions, perhaps some screenshots, so we know what if anything is supposed to happen.

Also some instructions on how and what it can be used for.

I get the marketing blurb on your home page, unfortunately there's nothing else on your site that actually helps me understand what it is and how to use it.

    Hi,

Yes — we really need a first-user-introduction so that you know what’s going on!

In order to actually see Rapportive you need to open an email inside Gmail — does that work for you?

    Conrad

  20. Currently in Chrome, when I click the Google Contacts link on the right in rapportive. I get the contact page open in a new tab. Shouldn't it open quickly in place?
