Hi Michael,
This is a great idea! We already do it for Twitter, so it would make a lot of sense to do it for Google Plus as well.
Thanks!

Launch a Blackberry App for Rapportive
Please launch a Blackberry App for rapportive which will give us a pop-up with all the details of that email ID, when we click on any email address.
31 votesThank you, that’s a good idea — we’ll keep it in mind when we expand Rapportive to platforms other than Gmail!

human curated suggestions
Enable feedback on Rapportive suggestions to make the entire system a learning machine. In addition enable confidence on suggested background based on confirmed user feedback and weighted remote api calls/known sources.
0 votesHi Mark,
This is something we’ve been thinking about internally for ages.
I’m not sure when we’ll have the time to implement it, but we’ll be sure to let you know when it’s available.

remove claim to email address
I want to remove my claim to email address. How do I do this?
12 votesHi Robert,
At the moment there’s no way to do this yourself, but just shoot us an email to supportive@rapportive.com, and we can do it for you.
We didn’t want to spend too much time making this happeng before we understood why people would need to do this, so it would be great if you could explain why you want to.
Thanks for getting in touch,
Conrad

HTML Rapportive Widget for webpages
Is there a way to create a widget that would make my gmail Rapportive Profile appear (within defined spacing parameters) as a widget on a blog? Minus my gmail contacts of course, but with my posts from Twitter, my profile, Social Networks, etc.
0 votesHi Jacob,
There’s no current way to do this, but that’s a pretty neat idea!
I’ll keep this story up-to-date as we think about the idea internally.
Thanks!

Hi Christopher,
I think our emails got crossed, sorry! I see your comment with the detailed example now, that’s awesome, thanks. :)
Could you email supportive@rapportive.com with the email addresses that would be better flagged as role-based? We have a set of rules (based on the username of an email address) but we can override them manually when needed.
Thanks,

Detect Google Groups / Mailing lists in general
When I receive a digest from a Google Group (e.g. django-non-relational@googlegroups.com) it would be far more useful to see the description of the group rather than a generic blurb about Google Groups.
(In the general case, many mailing lists are recognised by GMail, producing text of the form "mailing list python-list.python.org Filter messages from this mailing list".)

Thanks for getting in touch — that’s an awesome idea!
I’ll update this story as we make progress,

Show emails from other people at the same domain
It would be really helpful to find all the messaged from all the addresses of the sender's domain, not only from the addressitself. For example you get a message from name@domain.com, you can easily check "Recent conversation" with this person, it is a simple link to gmail search "from:name@domain.com OR to:name@domain.com". Could you please make one more link like "From same domain" which pointing to search "from:name@domain.com OR to:name@domain.com" (the search works, I tried it, just make a link please)
29 votesThis is a really interesting idea, thank you. I think it would be useful to show a list of people you know at a domain, and also the emails you’ve exchanged with them.
We’re still working out how to present that in a way that is friendly and easy to understand.

Detect LinkedIn suggestions in emails
Similar to the generic "detect notifications" suggestion (http://feedback.rapportive.com/forums/42557-general/suggestions/528957-detect-notification-emails-from-social-networks?ref=title), it would be nice if Rapportive could handle the notifications that come from LinkedIn that include "you might know XYZ" people. Hover over a person and have Rapportive pull in their information.
6 votesHI Jack,
That’s an awesome idea — thanks :D!
I’ve had a quick look at the emails that LinkedIn sends, at it seems that they obfuscate the links so that we can’t easily see which person is which. I’ll keep you updated if we figure out a way to do this,

Figure out how to properly display HTML characters like — in your summaries
The summaries you provide, developed from companies web pages', appear to garble certain HTML characters - like the emdash: —.
1 voteHi Michael,
That definitely shouldn’t be the case! Is there any chance you could let me know which website we got wrong? (either here, or by email to supportive@rapportive.com)
Thanks!

import all my social networks from my Google Profile
If my Google Profile is used as the source for all my social networks, then I don't have to enter them one-by-one into rapportive.

Don't show rapportive on myself
LOVE the thing showing info on the people I'm emailing. You would probably save a bunch of cycles and bandwidth, however, if you turned it off for me. I don't need to see my own LinkedIn profile pic!
3 votesHi Scott,
We do try to avoid showing you pictures of yourself, though when you’ve just started composing an email and we don’t have anyone else to show, we have to do something.
Can you think of a more useful thing to display in the sidebar at that point?

Thanks Liz. Can you clarify a bit more: where do you think the information should come from? (you address book? social networks? will you enter it yourself?) Would you want to see the information in the sidebar shortly before/after the date, or anytime? Our space in the sidebar is very limited, so we don’t want to take up more space than we have to.

Add top stories from news websites
When I get an email from nytimes.com or cnn.com, perhaps rather than the site map, the top stories that are featured on those websites would be helpful.
1 voteInteresting idea, I like it. Do you typically get emails from staffers at those organizations, or automated notification emails?

Hi Torsten,
Do you have examples of the problem you could share with me? If they’re personal email addresses, please send them to supportive@rapportive.com and we’ll correct or remove any bogus data.
Thanks,

make it an option to hide Rapportive in the compose window
I love Rapportive, but I don't want it to show up in the Compose window (as it now does). It's just not useful for me, and it's taking up screen real estate in an ugly, hacky way.
There should be an option to remove Rapportive from the compose window.
17 votesHi Chris,
Thanks for the idea, it’s definitely something we’re considering.
Out of interest, which Gmail theme do you use, and what size is your screen?

worketc
Would love to be able to pull info up frm worketc.com
3 votesThanks for the idea :).
It looks like worketc have a Gmail integration of their own: http://worketc.com/features/google_apps_integration, is that useful for you?
If not the best solution would be a custom raplet, see http://code.rapportive.com/.
We’re hoping to integrate Rapportive with many products in the future, but I can’t give an estimate as to how long it will be before we have time for this.
Thanks,
