Could you suggest how you would like this to work? We don’t want to run the risk of being confusing – if we show our sidebar, which is basically a contact record, next to the existing Google contact record, it would look a bit weird, especially if the data we have isn’t the same as what you’ve got in your address book.
What would you find most useful to augment Google Contacts? Or is the main benefit that you’d be able to search directly for a contact (as Michelle describes) rather than having to first find an email from them?

My vote was (appropriately) assigned to this thread since my idea was essentially a duplicate of this one. Unfortunately my commentary did not copy over to this thread to add to this discussion (hint for admin's: please copy over commentary when re-assigning votes).
My comment on this topic was:
Please put the Rapportive sidebar up not just when I am in my Gmail mail viewer, but also when I am in a Contacts detail window. Bonus would be (as mentioned in other requests) to then be able to sync info (even on a manual button press basis) between my Google contacts and the Rapportive information.
Super bonus would be to restructure the Contact detail area completely so that it becomes a socially aware CRM contact window (think Gist web contact viewer) that expands on the info available in the Rapportive sidebar.
