Display a contact's status updates from social networks
I'd like to be able to see the latest tweets / facebook posts / buzz from someone when their profile pops up on the side.
Maybe one effective way to do this would be to have an options panel within Chrome, where you can define which of the data pulled in is expanded and which should just remain a link. Also, you can use the options page to connect to services like Twitter / Facebook. This might help pull up protected tweets as well
We already show recent tweets: just click on the Twitter link in the sidebar and it’ll expand to show their most recent tweets. (I find this pretty useful!)
We’re working on doing similar things for Facebook, LinkedIn and other networks too. We’ll probably need to ask you to log into each of those networks before we could display information from them, and it will probably only work for people you were already friends with. We’ve got some ideas on how to make integration with social networks really useful.
I’ll update here when there’s more news on this.

I haven't been able to get any tweets showing in the sidebar like what is shown on the images on your homepage; http://rapportive.com/

I'm not sure if this is something broken at my end, or if the recent UI upgrade has missed a trick, but the "Connect on Facebook" option now appears for all my contacts, regardless of whether or not I'm already friends with them or not. What information can I provide to help?

Hey Sam, we are currently using Twitter's search functionality to show tweets. Unfortunately, this means that we can only show tweets made in the last 10 days or so (we're working on improving this). If you tweet now, does it show up in your profile? If not, please email supportive@rapportive.com and we'll take a look at it :)

Hi Sam,
I checked today and my tweets are showing only once now..If I see it again, I will take the screen shot and send it as you suggested.

Hi Rockey, your tweets shouldn't show up twice. Does this happen all the time for you, or only occasionally? Any chance you could drop an email to support@rapportive.com with a screenshot?

I see my tweets being repeated twice in Rapportive panel...Is this because I have my twitter id updated on LinkedIn as well? my twitter id is @rnebhwani

Facebook notification emails come from fake email addresses in the facebook.com domain. That said, the real names are often listed in the Subject. Please parse the Facebook username from that Subject line. e.g., First Last commented on (his|her) status. e.g., First Last sent you a message on Facebook

you should NOT show twitts that starts with a "@" (twitter replies)

also, just keeping personal notes within a persons profile when we view it would be useful

I would like it if when ever our mouse hovered over somebody's status update - we could see a little mini window pop up with the notes we have created for that person and quick links to instantly either a) post on their wall or b) send them a message. or C) call them via google voice.

Silvia, we currently don't read your Google Profile. If you email your twitter account name to us at support@rapportive.com, we'll add it for you :)
Best,

My sidebar doesn´t show any twitter link at all although it is included in my google profile.
Any ideas please? -

I really like this idea - in fact I initially came to this forum to post that idea. Pulling FB updates might be a little harder, but last Twitter update can't be that bad right? Same with LinkedIn if possible - that'd be especially nice for professional contacts.
