This problem doesn't just effect the user's email, it also means that people who have have a googlemail.com address, but always sign up for things using gmail.com don't get found by rapportive.

For instance, I have an email from XXX@googlemail.com, but rapportive says it can't find that person on any social networks. i know that if rapportive searched for XXX@gmail.com as well then it would find them.

Me too. Here in the UK, @googlemail.com addresses were recently replaced with @gmail.com addresses - it's not "another email address" it's the same one as far as google is concerned (i.e. this is a special case)

I second that. I am registered everywhere with my @gmail.com but google sends my mails as @googlemail.com. That way noone will find my Informations.
