Let users edit profiles for all their email addresses
I run several different addresses out of 1 gmail account. Rapportive currently only recognises 1, and the data is outdated. I'd like put more of my information into it, but can't.
Hi all,
I’m pleased to let you know that you can now edit the Rapportive profile for all of your email addresses.
To get started, login to Gmail and select “Claim your email addresses” from the Rapportive menu (located at the top of Gmail). You can read all about the feature on our blog, here:

Now that this idea is marked as completed, we’d love for you to use your forum votes to let us know which other ideas you want to see in Rapportive.

Thanks again for your patience!
Best, Lee.

Hi - I can't see the link / tab on the new Gmail. Is there another URL where we can claim multiple e-mail addresses?

I agree, Don't understand why something so important would take so long to resolve, please get the e-mail edit fix asap - before you start losing a bunch of users and have them spread this on social networks

This would be awesome, INDEED! ...Hope this happens soon... (At present, it's very uncomfortable seeing radically outdated information associated with one of my primary email addresses, make changes to the profile and then, have that information which was just changed earlier today, revert to the old information which was just changed...Rapportive is a wonderful service but, that leaves a big mark on its brand/branding.)

Just to add a vote or 3. The main email address I use is completely different from the login address so it rarely shows the right info for me.
I'm sure this is the same for people people that email me too.
Other than that great app!

Would love to see this happen. Right now my personal email comes up as me but you guys can't find anything on my work email. Would love to be able to connect them

This would be great. For folks like me who have several things going on which call for separate email accounts/etc, it'd be great to be able to control this. (I'm not complaining about your support team by mentioning this, though! They've been amazing and quick to make these adjustments for me on demand, but I am sure that it will be very difficult to keep up with the masses once Rapportive becomes more widely used.)
Thanks for the great app and support!

Would really love this feature, as I use Gmail to manage my email via POP3. I don't give out my gmail email address, so I'd prefer if I could represent myself with the email address I use. As an extension of this request, I'd also like to claim social network profiles associated with that external email address. Since I only use my gmail account to register for things I don't care about, your product is pulling up sn profiles I don't use. My FB, Twitter, etc accounts are registered under the email address that I can't add to my profile. Thanks!

I see it say to me that it doesn't find ceo at xind dot ca on any social networks... well cause I don't use that email address on social networks, that's my work address... but I could tell the system which address the social networks have for me, and then other users would actually see my profiles....

@Darren, great suggestion - we're already using the Gravatar API to get some of our data, so we'll definitely look into using it to help with claiming email addresses. It would be annoying if you had to claim addresses on Gravatar and then again on Rapportive!

I'm sure you're considering many ways of allowing users to claim email addresses. Have you looked at a way of hooking into Gravatar api? I know I keep multiple email addresses associated with my Gravatar id and that would provide a way of providing verification control? (not sure if Gravatar api supports this but if it does it would save you work...)

Ruth -- we're looking at letting you claim email addresses soon.
Tyler -- you can now edit your own job info. Just make sure you're logged into Rapportive (you know you are logged in when you hover over the Rapportive link at the top of the window and it says "Logged in as..."), click the "my profile" link in the sidebar, then hover over the part you want to change. You can't yet edit your social networks, but I'll remove the MySpace one for you right away.
All the best,

Either that or Rapportive just needs to get better at finding the right information.
For Example: My Rapportive (for me, personally) comes up displaying a link to a Myspace account that hasn't existed for almost a year now (seriously, if you click through Myspace can't find it, the link is dead. And wasn't updated for years before that), as well as all the Job Info it displays - which I believe is pulled from LinkedIn? - is outdated. I had to change some company names and position names in my LinkedIn profile (which I thought I had done months/years ago) and somehow Rapportive seems to be pulling up the older names. Odd.
I know Rapportive is working extra hard on everything, and it's a fine, fine line they must walk between giving users no control vs. some control vs. full control. As a developer, I'd err on the side of no control, and I see that's what Rapportive is doing right now. This is fine by me, as long as they continue to improve the accuracy of their service.
