See the history of email conversations with this contact
When a contact is displayed on the right, I'd love to get a link to quickly go to a Gmail view where I can see all the emails exchanged with that contact
Hi everyone,
Sorry about the delay on this idea. I’m happy to announce that the Rapportive sidebar will now show the 5 most recent conversations next to a contact profile. We completed this work as part of the integration of Rapportive and Google’s People Widget. This means that any time the data is available from Google, we will display it in the Rapportive sidebar.
Now that this forum idea has been marked as completed, you’ll get back any forum votes you applied here – please take a look at the other ideas in the forum and add your vote, or create an exciting new idea!
Kind regards,
Lee.

Thanks for this, but I think your implementation was not what everyone was expecting. You gave us a button to see the "recent conversations". What I think most of us were expecting was a list of those conversations within the rapportive sidebar.
If indeed I am wrong, please let us know how to implement this feature. It is not currently working on my instance.

I verified that when I turn off Rapportive and look at a message from my wife, I get the Google "People" widget and when I click to show details, it gives me the last five messages.
But in Rapportive, it just gives me an envelope icon to click on which opens a new window of search results.

Same as Chad - how do you get this working? I have the latest version of Rapportive as of 23 January 2012, and try as I might to find settings in Rapportive or GMail for this, I can't get it to work.
I'm looking at messages from people who are in my contact list and with whom I exchange a lot of messages, but all I get is the link to click on.
Using Firefox 9.01

I don't know how you are getting this to work. I have a Recent Mail section in the sidebar, but there are no recent emails headers below it or as a flyout.
The only way I can get to see the Recent Mail is to click it and it opens a new tab and lists all mail with that person. -

This would be AMAZING...and move Rapportive towards having the kind of CRM features that I really want to see!

Yes - this is crucial but please make sure that it also includes the past files shared with that contact. Xobni for Outlook has such a feature and it has saved me hours of time as you don't need to search for that lost file you know was sent

Seeing history with the contacts is great but please make sure it has a feature like Xobni does for Outlook where you can see all past conversations PLUS all past files shared. This is is what is most helpful as instead of saying "I know that file was sent to you..." you can quickly find it and send it again.

Would love to see this too. I do all of the support for our company - and really all I care about is: have I emailed with this person before? Then I could take more of a "how are you doing" approach, rather than a "thanks for emailing support" approach.

it would be even more helpful if the 3 or 4 most subject headings of the 3 or 4 most recent emails were shown like they were a feed..

You could also allow custom searches on the GMail archive with the contact name available as a flag eg last N "converstations with <contact>" that "are starred" and "not in inbox"

Have been itching for this feature for a long time! Would like to automatically reference past emails exchanged with a particular contact. Going into the "recent conversations" is helpful, but one more click (and my finger always slips... " Is there a way for the recent conversations to appear as soon as the email does?

You can already do this in gmail by going to More Actions and then Filter Messages Like These.

In order for this to be most useful, it would need to work like the "Recent conversations: Show" link that appears inside each contact record in Gmail. That link pulls up all the conversations regardless of which of the user's email addresses was used in it. In fact, maybe there is already a Google API call for running that same query.
In that regard, this request relies on the request for "Use multiple email for one person." If you are not correctly cross-referencing all of the email addresses I have for a given contact, you cannot show me a meaningful history of my conversations with him/her.
