Contact management on gmail contacts is broken to a great extent. And such Contact management is key, to using google voice, and the whole of google social strategy. Please review my feedback on this (items "ca" to "cg"), in
Photos of contacts in Gmail contacts : when I receive incoming phone calls on my Android or iphone, in order for me to view profile photos of my Gmail contact whose call I am receiving, I need to manually add photo of contact to my Gmail contacts. It will be great if gmail can help get the photo automatically either from my facebook friends, or drag-and-drop photo from facebook page to Gmail contact photo (in Chrome). Currently, I have to save photo to desktop, and upload to gmail contacts, which is tedious.
cb) Google voice app on iphone: When I add photos to my gmail contacts, or add gmail contacts, then it does not push the new gmail contacts or photos of my gmail contacts to iphone google voice app. It would be great if it did.
cc) Photos of contacts in Gmail contacts : In order to fill in photos of my Gmail contacts, the Gmail contact manager should be able to use my facebook account, to suggest possible photos for my contact. Currently, I have to tediously find URL of friends photo from facebook, and add photos to contacts in Gmail. When photos are present, it makes my google talk chat more meaningful, and when I receive google voice phone call to see who’s calling.
cd) Adding Photos of contacts in Gmail contacts : I have 100s of contacts in gmail, and when I try to add a photo for contact, gmail can provide me photo-suggestions for that contact from linkedin/facebook, and I can select that photo. Also, if I do choose a picture from the web using a URL, it asks me to crop those photos, which is tedious, if I am adding photos to 100s of contacts in gmail
ce) Exporting of Gmail contacts, and then importing those contacts into another gmail account, does not lead to contacts photos getting exported/imported: I wanted to transfer all my Gmail contacts info(including photos, etc) from one gmail account to another. But doing an export from one account, and importing into another, does not lead to contacts photos getting copied over
cf) Getting iPhone to import contacts(and contacts photos) from Gmail account: I wanted to transfer all my Gmail contacts (and their Gmail-contact photos) from Gmail, to my iphone (so that when I make/received Google voice calls from iphone, the contacts photos show up.) So when I get iTunes to import those contacts from gmail account, the photos from Gmail contacts do not get imported. Please fix this.
cg) Google voice to push out contact photos to iphone : I have the google voice app on my iphone, and in the “quick dial”, it does not show me photos of my google contacts, even though such photos exist in my gmail on my laptop. Please have google push photos of my contacts to the google voice app on my iphone, so that my iphone “google voice” app looks complete.
