  1. I have installed Rapportive and am using the BatchBook Raplet (which I think is genius) but the actual Rapportive doesn't seem to work... It keeps telling me it can't find any networks for that contact... and I know that isn't right because I know I have them. Can you give me a steer as to what I'm doing wrong please?

  2. For example, I have 3 different sites: my own trademark webite, my personal blog, and also a personal project with a blog. I would like to have a box with a title "Projects" and then Link to those 3 sites.
Or maybe, a box for "Latest work", and so on...

Sorry to hear we’re slowing down your Safari. We’ll look into this. It shouldn’t happen – are you quite sure it only happens when you have Rapportive enabled? Are there other sites besides Google Reader where it goes slow? Does it slow down when you’re in Gmail?

  5. I logged in as one email address and now want to use it to correct my details for another email address I have, a pretty common situation as many people have at lerast one personal and one work account, sometimes both with Gmail. I cannot log out of rapportive to relogin with another account as there seems to be some auto login set up with myopenID. How do I move between more than one email account or AT LEAST stop confirming the unwanted email account.?

Hey Joseph – Great minds think alike :). We’ve recently started work on some significant changes to the way logging-in works, I’ll keep you updated as things progress.

In the mean time, you should be able to click the “Log out” link in Rapportive menu (the first link at the top-right), then when you open the other gmail account, the Log in button should use your other email address.

There are some issues with Google’s experimental Multiple sign-on feature, if you’re using it, you might have to sign out of all Google accounts individually first.

  6. If Rapportive does not find any social information for my contacts, it should not show anything (empty, tiny, and possibly hidden). This way I can easily read messages from people who don't belong to a social network.

Hi IrFan — thanks for getting in touch! We’ve some plans to make Rapportive both less noisy and more useful when we can’t find any social networks. I’ll keep you updated as things progress

  7. Flowtown.com did this at one point (sorry for the plug)

right now, I'm emailing myself with the email I want to find out then hovering over it.

also, i don't always have their email. if we could use a linkedin ID to find FB, twitter and the rest, that would be awesome.

  10. Please let me login to rapportive using https. My abusive IT firewall denies me access to your service. I'm forced to try to login; sniff the url that you're using; paste it in a new tab; change the protocol to https; and sumbit manually.... all before your (google's?) system times out.

    It's a PITA

Thanks for getting in touch, that firewall sounds awful :(.

I think we should be using HTTPS for login too, so I’ll investigate switching it over.

    Thanks

    Hi Axel,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

If you have a photo on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. We will use that one instead of Gravatar (if you don’t have a Gravatar).

We tell people to change the photo on Gravatar because it’s guaranteed to work, and makes it clear how public the Rapportive photo is.

In the future, we’re hoping to have a mechanism where you can choose which photo you want us to display — but that might be a while yet, sorry.

Hi there — we’d love to do this. Right now, as we have limited capacity, we’re focussing our efforts on the browser extension version. It’s worth having a go with each to see which you prefer; many people prefer the sidebar on the right hand side. The extension version also allows you to store notes on contacts.

  16. Give up to date information about any transportation links mentioned in the email. PUBLIC TRANSPORT - if someone mentions "take the Picadilly line" then pull the current status of that tube line, plus any planned service at future dates (would be really cool to auto-detect any dates mentioned in the email). AIR TRAVEL - pull current flight status of mentioned flight numbers, and traffic delays and weather around mentioned airports. Pull terminal info for mentioned airlines in the closest couple of airports to the user's IP address. ROAD - If someone says "take the 405 south to Long Beach" then…

Thanks Caneel, that’s a really intriguing idea! We’re currently focussed on helping people develop better relationships, so it will be a while until we can look at extra contextual information like this (unless somebody in our developer community takes a look).

  17. Would other Rapportive users want this:

I'm a keyboard fiend (http://go.DanielOdio.com/gmail) and although i love all the keyboard shortcuts in gmail, I'm really missing the ability to do these things:

    • attach a file

    • reply + add CC line

    • "reply to all" but put the "from" into the "bcc" line and the "cc" into the "from" line .... this would be especially useful for intros. Say Bob introduces Daniel to George on cc (or maybe he's also in the "to", either way). Daniel wants to reply with George in the "to" and Bob in the BCC, so Daniel can…

  19. If you do a keyword search, Gmail puts the results in yellow. Normally when Repportive is off you can turn the highlight off on the right side bar but Repportive blocks it. So it would be nice to be able to turn the highlight off when replying.

    Hi Rob,

Thanks for getting in touch :).

When someone has a Tungle Me membership listed on their profile (and we fill in those memberships automatically if someone has made their Tungle profile public) we show a button that allows you to click to see the calendar from within gmail.

Do you have ideas for what more we should do here?

    Conrad
